“6 nights on Maui”

We stayed at the hotel / timeshare on our honeymoon. Everything was wonderful, the staff was extremely friendly and the room was immaculately clean. There are no timeshare pitches at all. The only bad thing about or stay was the room service pizza, it was so bad we sent it back and it was promptly taken off our bill.

“Great resort for families”

Went here for family vacation. Great service!!!! stayed at Villa North. Celebrated graduation at Italian restaurant, they made it special and memorable for us-great service and provided complimentary dessert plate. All the restuarants are great. Great location, our room was 2 minute walk from beach.Stayed in 1 bedroom ocean view condo-loved it!

“Horrible. Be cautious of these planted reviews.”

This is one of those hotels that you can buy rooms and rent them, so be cautious of the glowing reviews you read here, lots of room owners writing reviews to be tricky. Stayed here a few weeks ago.. hardcore construction. our room had plastic covering the windows so you could not see outside. rooms smell like pee ( we tried 2 ) , this is a family resort no doubt. Management is clueless and the worst I have ever experienced, but the general staff is pretty nice.

“Best Hotel in Kaanapali”

The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas are fabulous for families! The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean! We have stayed at this hotel now on three different occasions and each time has been fantastic. The location is perfect, you have awesome pools and the beach is the best for snorkeling and just playing in the water, extremely kid-friendly! You are a quick drive (less than 5 min.) from Whaler's Village where there are great restaurants and shopping! We will definitely stay there again!

Do not waste your money on the Royal Lahaina Hotel Luau! It was not a good experience. The food was terrible and you were given plastic cafeteria style trays to eat on, there was no view of the ocean, the groud the tables were set up on was gravel, and the show was just mediocre, as you had about 10-12 performers for the whole show that would just go back stage and make a quick costume change. I would highly recommend not wasting your money on this one. I have heard the Luau to attend is the "Old Lahaina Luau" in Lahaina.

“Great hotel property for families”

We stayed at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas for 8 nights in October/November. Beautiful property. Great place for children, with kiddy pools--one had a pirates ship with slides! Friendly staff, great service, quiet, very comfortable room. We opted for the mountain view studio which was very comfor table, but we were sorry not to have a view of the gardens or ocean.Expensive, but worth it! Location is on a great beach for swimming and snorkeling. Beautiful walkway from this hotel all the way to Black Rock--nice boardwalk, alternative to the beach for walking.

Area recommendations

Kaanapali Beach area is fabulous--great beaches, near good restuarants, shopping, etc. The Kaanapali Ocean Beach Villas are a little north of the main tourist area in Kaanapali, so it was a drive to Whaler's Village. However, we liked it because it was a little less hectic than Whaler's Village area.

“Just OK - not worth the cost”

When I paid the extra cost for an Ocean Front room I expected to be a lot closer to the ocean. We could see the ocean OK but we were at least half way back from the ocean front side of the hotel. The bed really sucked also. On the bright side the staff was super nice and helpful. It is a beautiful hotel. Other than the bed the room was very nice. The pool is nice but looks nicer in pictures than reality. Parking lot has the most narrow parking spaces I have ever seen. That resulted in many spaces being unusable. One time I had to crawl in through the hatch back of the car becasue someone parked next to me.

“Would Stay Here Anytime!”

This hotel was amazing! My husband and I spent 6 nights at the resort for our honeymoon and we were not dissapointed in anyway! The view was amazing, the pools and spas were wonderful and the bar tenders and the Pool Bar and Grille were delightful! When a bottle of our champagne fell out of the fridge in the room (the little shelf broke) the hotel gave us a credit for the amount we paid for the bottle of champagne! They went above and beyond in everyway! There were also concierge desks located throughout the property to make reservations for us and to set up activities throughout our stay. We highly recommend this resort!

If you get the chance drive the Road to Hana, it is a beautiful drive!
