“Mr.Hong”
service poor!!!
“Best view in maui”
Very good accomodation except spa service
“Great location, acceptable service”
The big snag with this hotel is its room definitions. We had asked for an ocean-view room. Turns out that it was their definition of partial ocean room. Could not see the ocean unless you leaned half way across the balcony. Upon inquiry, I was told i should have booked a Oceanfront room. Seems like sleazy sales to me. Another thing to note is that they have only wired internet in the room. In this age of iphones and ipads, this is a big limitation. You have to go down to Starbucks to access their free wi-fi. What made up for this was an excellent location and other amenities. Provided you book the room you want correctly, this hotel is worth it 4 star ratings.
“Very family oriantated, not for the honeymooners”
We thought the hotel as a whole was great, very relaxing and a number of things to do. Though if you are planning to stay there for your honeymoon you might be a little dissapointed, we where offered a room upgrade but we had to pay for it, and we didn't get any extra's after saying we where there on our honeymoon. The hotel site is quite large with 3 large pools and a kids play ground pool with a huge water slide, and a couple of hot tubs/spas. Lots of sunbaking beds available with views of the ocean. Pool side service from the bar (both food and drick service) as well as a restaurant above with great views. there is a shopping centre with in walking distance about 5min up the road, and a few shops on the hotel site including a starbucks. Room service available for all meals and snacks and room contains tea and coffee facilities and a empty fridge. There is a laundry mat with two machines and dryers for guest use really cheep to use compared to the room laundry service. Also has a business centre with internet/computers and postage around the world as well as photocopy and fax. Also has many golf courses which you can walk to or the bell desk are happy to drop you off if close by. There is also a 1.5k track which you can access the beach with and other hotels around. Highly recommend this hotel for those with a family, kids 15 and under most suited rather than those on there honeymoon.

“Typical Marriott rooms, nice amenities, amazing location & views”
Depending on how well-traveled (snooty :-) you are; your budget and/or your occasion, I would definitely recommend the Marriott Wailea. Extremely nice lobby/views, great location; great pools, with just average rooms. In our case, we didn't spend much time in our room so, the normal 'Marriot room' experience was fine for us. But, if money is no object for you, you're really picky about having a super posh room OR, this is a honeymoon/wedding trip...based on what we saw, the neighboring Grand Wailea or 4-Seasons would be the more upscale alternatives...but, all hotels in that strip of Wailea share the same beach, views, activities, shopping...it all comes down to how nice you like your lobby, the grounds and/or your actual room. Bonus points for an onsite Starbucks and Hertz Rental location and recently renovated (while we were there, unfortunately) gym. Easy walk to The Shops @ Wailea and dining, convenience stores.
“Beautiful”
Beautiful Resort! Room was very clean. They upgraded our room to an ocean view for no extra charge. No beach directly at resort but there is a convenient beach location right next door. Four pools to choose from - breakfast was good. Did not eat lunch or dinner at resort. Would definitely stay here again.
“Cold pools and bad bed”
Marriott advertises their" upscale" bedding - a joke! The mattress was so soft and lumpy after the first night that we requested a new mattress, the first time ever after years of traveling. That mattress was stiff as a board, moderately better but still uncomfortable sleeping. Pillows too soft. Came home with a back ache. Yes this is Hawaii but pools still need to be heated. When my husband commented to the pool attendant that the pool was to cold to use she said that other guests were also complaining but management was saving money. Service at the breakfast buffet was slow, not easy for a buffet. Bacon undercooked even after asking to have it redone and the "eggs over easy" were burned. Parking spaces in the garage too small for a standard size car forcing you to park on the roof in the hot sun. This hotel is in a lovely location and is surrounded by higher priced hotels but management is NOT paying attention. WE would not stay there again and would NOT recommend the hotel
“paradise”
My husband and I stayed at this resort for our anniversary. We had a wonderful experience. We were able to walk to the other nearby hotels to dine and enjoy their festivities which gave us great options. I would definitely recommend this resort.
“Can't wait to go back”
The only downside - there is no beach access at the Marriot we had to go to Grand Wilea beach area which is not that bad but overall very satisfied. Amazing view, the room is super clean, the staff are very friendly and prompt.
