“The best place to stay in Lahaina”

Right on the beach. You must take an ocean front room. We were on the 2nd floor and the view was not interrupted by the palm trees as other reviews have stated. 5 mins walk to the centre of town, and Bettys Cafe next door is brilliant. Watch the Polynesian dance from Bettys and save $90 per head Much better location than Sheraton, Westin and others up in "resort city" which is well away from Lahaina

“Lahaina Relaxation”

We received exemplary service from everyone at the hotel from the front desk personnel to the housekeepers. The concierges were particularly helpful in getting us on the best tours. The facility shows a little age but its location and amenities such as laundry and secure parking made up for that. We would go back to Lahaina Shores in a heartbeat.

“Just What We Wanted”

After spending 2 vacations in the Ka'anapali Resort Area this was a refreshing change. The location on Front Street was perfect, we could walk to anywhere in Lahaina. The grounds were well maintained, the combination of shade and sun was just right and the pool was refreshing. Only issue was the condition of the carpeting, at least on the second floor, it needs cleaning or better yet replacing. If your vacation plans center around basking in the sun on a white sand beaches, definitely go to Ka'anapali. If you want to enjoy all of Maui, especially Lahaina, you could not ask for a better location.

“Not impressed this time”

Room was way outdated, they were renovating 5 rooms just on my floor in my section so construction noise was a bit much during the day and the hall carpets were disgusting. The only thing I absolutely loved was the bed and the lanai.. We aren't going back there for a few years, let them finish spiffing up the place..

Area recommendations
Kaanapali hotels seem to have much more action and much nicer now, used to love Lahaina Shore but got a sour taste this year. Overall we had a good time still.

“Will continue to go back.”

We have stayed here the past 6 years and will continue to stay here. We love the location because you can walk to most anyplace for shopping and good restaurants.

Must see
We would recommend going on the Maui Pineapple Tour. It is a little spendy, but is well worth it. If you go on Tuesdays or Thursdays, you can see them working in the plant and then the tour guide, Stephen, takes you out in the fields where you can eat all the fresh pineapple you want.

“Great location”

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. The rooms are badly in need of updating, we had some smell in our room that we could not get rid of. The hotel has no room service, no amenities of any kind and no activities. Having said that, the hotel is about 10 yards from the beach and less than a 5 min walk to Lahaina Town. If the room is more important than the location then this is not the place for you, but you cannot beat the location.

“Excellent Experience”

This is the second time we stayed at this hotel and it definately won't be the last. The rooms were generous in size and price. The hotel didn't let us check in early however. Other than that it was a great place to stay. The concierge was a great help as well.

“Great location. Nothing too fancy, just a great value!”

It's great to stay at a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of town. The beach behind the hotel is ok, nothing spectacular, however, the snorkeling is pretty good if you don't feel like driving anywhere else. There is a luau nightly next store that you can actually watch while having drinks or dinner in Betty's Beach Side Cafe. If you want a reasonably priced, clean place to stay and don't want to share the pool with 1000 other guests, this is probably the place for you. If you're looking for a true "resort", this probably won't fit the bill. It's also great that the rooms have a kitchen so you don't have to eat every meal out during your stay. It makes it feel like you're living on Maui!

Dining
Alot of dining in walking distance.
Nightlife
