“Overall a great place!”
My husband and I had a great experience at the hotel. Beach access was great, but my only complaint was their overly soft down pillows.
“Thanksgiving in maui”
Excellent short break Lovely hotel with friendly staff
“OK - but not Hyatt Quality”
We had an OK experience with this hotel. Several Complaints 1. We had a partial ocean view which we did get but what we did not anticipate was the noise (or music based on your mood ) that accompanied this room between 5-8pm every nite due to the Luau which was not advertised. And this was the typical time when we would be in the room - so pls check if your room faces the ocean and the Luau. 2. There are waiters of every kind here - so if you rent a Cabana - which I would recommend you do not after 12noon - there is a Cabana waiter and a pool waiter and they will not cross serve! We had a bad experience where we rented a Cabana and then had to go seek a cabana waiter inspite of several pool waiters hovering around us. 3. They do not rent Cabana waiters by the hour! So you either rent this at 8am or 12noon for a full or half day. Else you pay that total rate even if you rent it for an hour - un fair 4. There is a waterfall in the pool so that noise is deafening. Our little one was really scared with this and did not have a good time in the pool. So if your little one is scared of loud noises then this is not a good hotel. This is not against the hotel but something you should be aware of. Other than this we had a good time.
“Great Hotel”
Room was clean and comfortable, restaurants were good and the food at the beach bar is worth trying. Staff are friendly and helpful, the only downside is you have to pay a resort fee for each day you are staying
“very good but needs updates”
this was our honeymoon. We were quite satisfied with the hotel. However it show its age so the interior needs to be updated.
“not impressed”
major construction was not disclosed, hotel maid service/turn down service left a lot to be desired. definitely not what we expect from a 5 star hotel.
“Disappointed compared to prior two visits”
Did not recognise the hotel from prior visits since the original lobby area was closed and undergoing restoration, The new 'contrived' entrance was at the rear of the hotel and I felt I was entering the 'back door'. The 'restoration' noise and inconvenince was not ever mentioned in the hype leading up to our stay. My wife and I were returning to the Hyatt Regency Maui to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and were expecting to relive our past two experiences at the previously breayhtakingly beatiful hotel. Our expectations were not realized. I can appreciate that business cash flow requirement may dictate continuing operations during restoration/reconstruction. Did not appreciate the 'deception' regarding the hotel condition. For this reason we will not return.
“Wish I didn't have to leave!”
Everything about the hotel was great! From the pools, to the restaurants, to the beautiful view, to all the exotic animals (which my wife loved!). Everything about our stay was great, and we would definetely recommend this hotel to everyone else.
“Amazing setting!”
This is the perfect place for a short-term getaway to Maui. The facilites and beach location provide both tranquility as well as fun activities and is also perfectly located to explore the Western part of Maui.
“Amazing Hotel”
The Hotel was fantastic and the service was phenomenal. I greatly enjoyed my stay.
