“Great view, great facility - would go back again”
The beach is connected from the building and its literally 2 secs away. We also enjoyed having meals at lanai. nothing blocks the view and you have 180 degrees of beautiful ocean view ! definitely coming back here.
“Our second time at Mahana - there will definitely be a third”
When you first step into your room - the view takes your breath away. Floor to ceiling window overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean. A balcony where you can sit soaking up the warm ocean breezes as you watch the people walking along the beach. The room contains everything one would need - from fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer, dishwasher, free Wi-Fi etc. Although we saw other guests we never heard them. You can be as private as you want to be. Although the Mahana does not have a restaurant - there are a number of interesting, and very Hawaiin eating places nearby. I have no hesitation in recommending this place. I'm going back again.
“It's ok”
Don't know why, but this hotel is always windy. Nice ocean view, but cant swim at the beach section right in front of the hotel because it's right at the coral reef's location. Have to walk 100 ft either way to swim. Bathroom is very small.
“Great deal!”
This condo resort was a great bang for our buck! Love the proximity to Front Street. Every suite is ocean side...can't beat that! Will definitely stay here again.
“Will be the hotel for us in Maui”
The ocean front views are un-believable. We watch sunset each day. The unit is very large. It's enough for our toddler to roam. It feels like home than a hotel. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the views. We will stay here for our next visit.
“Home-away-from-home”
Like staying in someone else's well-appointed home. Great view of beach, surf, passing boats, and islands Lana'i & Moloka'i. Could be more ostentatious & up-scale, but couldn't be better.
“the great and the average”
The great: oceanfront rooms, the view out the balcony, gorgeous oceanfront pool, hotel staff was courteous, clean (though we did find an empty beer can from previous guest under the night stand). The average: Location - it is not in the center of things. Which can be a good and a bad thing. We actively chose to be away from where the crowds were. The coast right in the front of the hotel is not play-in-the-water-friendly. Lots of rocks underneath. We had to walk about a 100 yards for slightly less rocky sea-bed. The worst: Expedia did not mention that the standard room has murphy beds. We did not want to deal with that, so we had to pay extra and upgrade to a room with a normal bed.
“Ok place to stay”
We had a room on the top (12th flr) of the building. It has an unobstructed view of the Ocean which was incredible. The Condo was nicely furnished, modern bathroom, Kitchen well equipped. Beach access was good, pool ok. No restaraunt in the facility but many are close by at other resorts. Negatives: Bed was soft, the sliding glass door did not have a good seal, so there was an annoying whisling sound as the breeze came through the door. This was a studio so the bed was right beside the sliding glass doors. Once the sun came up, you were up, there was a light shade to pull down but did not block any of the light out. The entrance door looked like someone tried to break in as the wood on the frame was damaged around the lock.
“C's and R's 10 wonderful nights at the Aston Mahana at West Maui.”
For our 35th Anniversary, the Mahana was a great place to spend 10 nights in Maui. To start with, our 11th floor room was a studio with a kitchen. It had a washer and dryer, which we used every evening. The room was very clean and Claire did a great job keeping it that way. All of the rooms are ocean front with the islands Lanai and Molokai, and the channel between them right in front of us. The view was magnificent! Since we directly faced the ocean which was only 100 or 200 feet from the building, we didn't have to worry about drawing the screen down in the evening or when we were relaxing in the room. The rooms are upgraded in granite and tile with a large shower and no tub. This was a great place for newlyweds and other couples to stay. This section of beach is nearly empty probably due to the coral field which is spread out in front of the hotel. There is no catering to children and I didn't see any during our stay, which wasn't a bad thing. There are no restaurant or bar/lounge facilities in the hotel, but Duke's restaurant/bar and other hotels are a few minute's walk away. DVD checkout is in the lobby. Parking was free and plentiful. A supermarket is across the street. They have a pool and hot tub, bbq grills, plenty of lounging furniture. This is a very, very romantic place to stay far enough away from the crowd to be alone together, but close enough to participate in all the things that make Maui such a great vacation spot. I felt like a newlywed in this place.
“Maui trip 2011”
The hotel is a beautiful place to stay out. Room views are amazing, and it is literally about 20ft from the water. But, if you looking to do anything in the Whaler Village area, its to far to walk to that shopping center. You have to drive, and fight for free parking or pay a high price to park in a garage and still walk from there. Otherwise, its a great place!
