“Nice hotel, cheap and convenient”
Basic hotel with simple price, can't expect much. Breakfast was good and quiet location. Good connections to Interlaken and easy to commute to the hotel. Staff weren't very good though. they should make an effort to be a little friendly if they was decent clientele and reviews.
“hang gliding centre”
An older building that could stand some serious upgrading. On-suite W/C was not acceptable. nice Breakfast.
“Decent value”
In a city where the average nightly hotel rate is easily twice the Alpina's, it would be unreasonable to expect a 5-star experience. Rooms are rather old and could use some refurbishing, but they are quite large. The private bathrooms/showers seem to be a retrofit from the days before electricity and running water throughout the building. Not very comfortable and the plastic smell was impossible to excise from the room. Staff, however, is very friendly and breakfast plentiful. The hotel is about a twenty-minute walk from either train station, but once there, the hotel (like most in Interlaken, I assume) provided us with a free bus pass for the duration of our stay, valid in the greater Interlaken area. In all, a decent value for budget travelers who would rather explore the area than be pampered in a hotel.
“Best hotel in Switzerland”
We have traveled all over Europe and this is definitely our FAVORITE hotel!!! It was beautiful, comfortable, relaxing, great food, and with a gorgeous view of the Alps. It was nice that the hotel was a little bit out of town, and it's a very short walk into Interlaken. We were most impressed with the delicious 3 course dinner for only $15. You can't find that good of a deal anywhere. The room was larger than any other European hotel we have stayed in, so it was nice to have room for all of our suitcases. We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone going to Switzerland!
“From Malaysia”
Hotel Alpina has a nice view of mountain and the location is not bad. The staffs are good contact with traveler.
“ok for the price”
this hotel is little away from the city.. no buses goes towards the hotel after 8pm but taxis are available after 8pm which costs 15euros... the lady at the reception was very helpful and helped us with all our queries and guided us well.. the breakfast was great..
“Fantastic Staff in a dilapidated hotel”
The manager of the hotel greeted us on reception and she was absolutely wonderful. We only had two nights in Interlaken and wanted to visit the Jungfrau but had no idea where to go! Within a few minutes of arrival she had given us all the details we needed, including helpful hints like check the webcam for the weather as there's no point booking a trip to the very top if it's shrouded in cloud! She then took us to our room, which is always a nice touch and ensured we had everything we needed. The room was on the top floor (there's a lift) facing the valley and the view was breathtaking. However, the room was in need of some serious TLC. Rattan wallpaper was threadbare in places as was the carpet. The windows were virtually stripped of paint and black mould had taken up residence. The linen was clean, but the towels were old and felt like sandpaper. On the up side, it was incredibly quiet and we had our own bathroom, which on first inspection looked a bit dodgy, but actually the shower was fantastic and the water was always hot. Breakfast is thrown into the price and it was a reasonable spread - nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. So, if you're looking for 'budget' in Interlaken, which is ferociously expensive on the whole and you don't mind roughing it a bit, this is a great place with wonderful staff. However, if you're looking for affordable luxury, definitely go elsewhere.
“Nice Place”
This was a good place to spend a few days while in Interlaken. it is within walking distance of all 3 train stations (west,Ost and Wilderswil) and there is a bus stop a block down the street so this all made it easy to get around. The hotel is an older building so it's nothing fancy but it has more character than the newer ones - we had a balcony outside our room which faced the mountains for an incredible view. Our room had a toilet and shower in the room which was nice (in 10 days of traveling around switzerland this was the only accomodation we had with a bathroom and shower in the room). The staff was very nice and helpful at all times, breakfast was adequate, the location is excellent. Supermarket, laundry and restaurants are all within a 5 minute walk.
“Excellent value and ammenities”
We booked this hotel at the last minute and were lucky to get a rare triple room, for myself and my two daughters. Space was a little tight, but it didn't matter. The Hotel had free WIFI, an elevator, and a wonderful little restaurant/bar that had typical Swiss food for the region, with huge american size portions of food. The Fondu was for two, and was enough for 3 or 4 people and was my favorite. The included a typical continental buffet breakfast plus some cold cuts and cheese. You are served hot milk and coffee or chocolate for the kids. The was also the option for full pension (dinner) which was in its own dining room. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and spoke english. The hotel, however, is a some distance from the city center, so you would need to take public transportation or drive. An excellent value!
“A bit old and rickety”
Good staff. Breakfast was OK. A bit old and rusty place.
