“Service Beyond Expectations”

The room was very comfortable except that you had to open the window to get temperature control. But service was the highlight for us especially after we'd booked out & travelled for a couple of hours only to find we'd left the passports in the safe! No problem for Laurent. He had them safely en route to us immediately and in our possession within a couple of hours.

Town centre as there was a good choice of bars and eateries, as well as interesting sights.

“A marvellous place to stay. Would love to go again!!”

We stayed at the Hotel du Parc after a busy day in the Alps. We could not believe the quality and ambience of this large hotel. Rooms were especially pleasant, bright, clean with pristine duvets. Close to the train station and within walking distance of the charming town of Martigny. We ate at the hotel which offered delicious meals at competitive prices. Choices included horse meat or ostrich, but we stuck to pasta and salmon with vegetables and salad which we enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel. This was our first time booking with Expedia. I would use them again....just walked out the door on our departure when they said..."Oh you have come with Expedia...Good bye!!!"

Traveller's tip

We went purposely to Martigny so that we might visit the St. Bernard Museum located there.We had the opportunity to pet the beautiful dogs. We also browsed the museum which was excellent. As Canadians we were made very welcome. Do not miss seeing this very special and interesting place if you are in Switzerland.

“Very nice”

My son and I came in for the Tour de France. Got in late. Check in was a breeze, asleep in 15 minutes, and slept for 12 hours without waking. Having never been in Europe before, I heard bad stories about the bathrooms. All was fine, shower was great, etc. Most reasonably priced place we stayed at in our week long europe stay.

“Not an inconvenient base for skiing”

Used the hotel as a base for skiing in Verbier - and not too inconvenient. Train from Martigny (10mins walk) to La Chable arrives just as the lifts open and you miss the queues in Verbier! There are lockable ski racks in the La Chable cable car station. Hotel - rooms comfortable, food good but menu quite limited.

Traveller's tip

Buy a snow n rail ticket for discounted rail & skipass deals for Verbier and 4 valleys - available from the train ststion ticket office.

“Hôtel mercure martigny, suisse : légèrement exentré juste ce qu'il faut”

Alors on s'attend à plus d'un quatre etoiles, déja sa situation est moyenne , son petit dejeuner continental moyen tant qu'a tout le reste c'est très recommandable : service, acceuil, chambre ......hôtel très bien pas déçu...allez y D.

toutes les villes proche, les pistes le petit village medieval de gruyere le paysage est splendide de partout autour de cette vallée........
