“Great hospitality”

Service was great. The milk & cookies in the evening and fresh muffins in the morning were a personal touch. The manager, Stephen, was very good. Overall a very enjoyable couple of days at Martha's Vineyard.

“Great place to stay”

Had a very enjoyable stay at The Kelley House. Room was very clean, well maintained, and spacious. I am particular about beds and pillows, and both were very comfortable and a notch above what I usually find. The continental breakfast in the morning, and milk and cookies in the evening, which were available in the nicely appointed main lobby, were very enjoyable and much appreciated. The location of the hotel was very convenient to restaurants and shops, as well as the ferry to Chappaquidick, and an easy walk to Edgartown Lighthouse. The adjacent parking lot was another plus allowing for easy access to my car. Had a great dinner at their restaurant, The Newes from America Pub, which I would also recommend. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

“Fabulous in so many ways!”

Great location; friendly, professional and always in a good mood service and management personnel. Squishy pillows and pristine white linens. Great dining and shopping and running route recommendations by management who seemed to always be on site and ready to help. Pub next door ended up as our cocktails and dinner venue every night of our stay, and absolutely no unexpected charges at the end. The only slightly imperfect features were an overfull parking lot and no cel phone access (but OK with internet connection) in our room. We will most definitely be back next year.

Area recommendations
Edgartown is beautiful and full of more than just tacky souvenir shops, especially if you are looking for true eighties preppy stuff; yes its a little pricey but, "hello", who would not want to live or vacation here? Go to Oak Cliff for the gingerbread houses but expect ticky tacky t-shirt shops and typical beach carnival boardwalk scene otherwise. If you are a runner, MV in general is awesome. Run from the heart of Edgartown to South Beach and back, along Katama Road was a great 5 mile flat wide bike path (as in hard asphalt; not softer like a trail) course.

“Great hotel in a lovely location”

We received fantastic service at the Kelley House - staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The accommodation was excellent - the building has character and charm, but is also clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is superb being in the heart of the town. We really recommend the Kelley House.

“beautiful suite, great service, perfect location in Edgartown”

We upgraded to a suite at the last minute and couldn't be more pleased. It was spacious enough for myself and 2 teenaged children requiring privacy and ample bathrooms. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The location was great in the heart of Edgartown, and we spent some nice times on he deck overlooking the harbor. Can't wait to go back.

“Location, location, location!!!”

The best thing this hotel has going for it is it's outstanding location. It is absolutely in the middle of the hub of Martha's Vineyard. However, I would rate everything else as average to below average. It appears that the hotel tends to employ international students studying abroad. They know very little about the island, and have no experiece providing service. During our stay I asked the front desk clerk for a wine bottle opener. The girl at the front desk simply said that she didn't have one and just went back to her desk in the back. I might as well have asked a stranger off the street. I witnessed a similar scene after another guset made a similar request for another item. The hotel is also in rough shape. I understand that it is a historic hotel, however the furniture is very worn. Another concer is security. The hotel uses regular metal keys for room access and it did not appear that the locks are changed out after each visit . Previous guests (or whoever) could easily enter a room after checking out.

“Very Impressed, best staff ever! Great Location”

We stayed there for 3 nights in June. The location is great, walk to everything you need. The staff was the most friendly, helpful and polite I have ever experienced. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. Apples at checkin, Cookies at night and Muffins in the morning. I asked for a rollaway bed and shazaam, it was there. Rates are reasonable and I would definately go back.

Area recommendations
Edgartown is the best part of the island. Small town, but has lots of shops for my wife to drag me through. Good benches outside of most of them to people watch. Plenty of ice cream and fudge shops. No need for your car once you get to town, walk or rent a bike right in town. The island is too big to bike around, but you could ride a bike to South Beach from the town. Beautiful beaches with few people.

“we will go back to the hotel next year again !”
