“A 3 start hotel shows a fake 5 star rating and a bad service”
I booked this hotel for 14 days started from October 8th 2011, when I booked using expedia I saw a good rating 5 stat hotel. But after going there I found it is a old and like a 3 start hotel. The hotel is old, the room was not very good, almost every morning there was shortage or no hot water in the bathroom, the employees in the counter was arrogant except two, I left my cell phone in the lobby sofa one night around 11:30 and next morning I came back it was not there, I asked the employees at the counter they showed no interest to listen. I called the Manager Mr. Syed he too was negligent and walked away without doing any help to find it. Finally it was lost with not a simple simpathy from the management. The light in the lobby was turned off everynight before 12 mid night, no matter if some one was there or not. The brakefast was bad, same item in different days but not a quality brakefast. The exercise room did not open before 9 am and after 5 it was completely shut down. It was a bad experience for me here. I do not recommand anyone to stay in this hotel, you may lose also all your money or belonging like my cell phone.
“Very bad experience considering that it is a 5 star hotel !”
Hotel has some nice architectural features but that is where nice things end. The toilet was very dirty. Some horrible hair and other dirty particles. There was no water in the toilet we had to call someone to fix it. The tv's antena was out of order and at first there was one chanel and then when it got "fixed" it started showing like 5 or 6 more in a very bad quality. Most of the hotel's employees were unpleasant(with few exeptions) For a 5 star hotel it was very poor. I would say that even for a very low rated hotel I would expect basics of hygiene. hotel-not recommended.Good that at least our mood was ok so we can have some laugh after the trip.
“Great Value, large rooms, lovely pool”
This hotel is outside the Medina and maybe a 20 min walk to the Jma El Fna Square, however it is situated on a main road and is very easy to reach, with a taxi stand right next door. The rooms were huge - if a little bare and the beds incredibly comfy. Make sure you request a poolside room or odd number otherwise you will be facing the road which gets quite busy at night. Bathroom and toilet are separate which was perfect as I was sharing with my mum. Bathroom is well equipped but the shower was a little lacking in pressure. Pool was perfect especially after walking the dusty square and Medina. Always loads of space and towels available. Only disappointment was despite several requests early breakfast was not delivered and we left for a very early morning flight on hungry tummies. Overall - very good
“Smart Hotel”
Nice hotel on what used to be called Avenue De France if you have an old guide book. The room was smart but if you can get an odd numbered room to be on the pool rather than the road side. The breakfast has a vast array of choice. Good base to explore Marrakech - an easy walk to the Old town or a short taxi ride.
“Nice Hotel but pricey--extra fees for pool, etc”
The hotel is nice.. a cheap taxi ride to Medina and close to train station..in newer part of town..Moroccan restraunt in hotel was good as was breakfast buffett...extra fees for the pool which were like $12 US per person per day.
