“Very impressed and will recommend to others”

Were not sure what to expect but were surprisingly delighted. Situated in the north of the Medina - quite a walk to the Square - it was an oasis of serenity cut off from the vibrant noise of the surrounds. Management and staff were excellent and extremely helpful with directions, advice and recommendations - apart from the friendly service. The rooms were very comfortable for a 180 year-old building. Close to superb dining and a very short walk to taxis.. Will recommend and gladly return.

Area recommendations
Location was away from the main tourist areas but in a bustling and interesting neighbourhood well worth exploring and being easily lost in the narrow streets. If tourist-type facilities and shopping is a priority one had to be prepared to walk or move further into the southern Medina
Getting around
Although taxis are readily available, walking is recommended and provides insights into and an appreciation of the culture and daily life of the Medina - which is totally different to that of the 'modern city' outside the walls. It also allows discovery and exploration of traditional and very good restaurants (often well-hidden behind large wooden doors) and markets. An appreciation of the differences between the traditional and modern Marakesh can be gained by a 'red bus' tour of the modern city.

“Seduction in the Souks”

This was my second visit to Marrakch, and, as I had done the first time, I booked a riad through Riads Seductions, which is an agency providing reasonably-priced riads in the Medina. Part of the excitement is not knowing exactly where you are going to end up! Our riad turned out to be in the Mouassine district, a little over 5 minutes walk from Jemma El Fna, and was run by a delightful couple, Saida and Aziz. Saida spoke excellent French and she was a constant source of jollity and good humour, She made us feel at home immediately. She cooked for us on our last evening, and it was by far and away the best meal we had in our short stay. I'd certainly go back there again.

Area recommendations
I would certainly recommend staying in the Medina, rather than in one of the big hotels outside. Not that I've done that - on both my visits to Marrakech I've stayed in a riad, and I can't really see the point of doing anything else. I would also loke to stay longer next time and explore more of the out-of-the way areas, and find time to go up into the Atlas Mountains. Far too much to see and do on a short trip,

“Going local!”

This was a charming, small Inn that is part of a local group, inside the medina, so the location is ideal. The food is excellent, and I noticed most guests chose to eat there versus go out, I think because of the quality and service. It is NOT air conditioned and has no internet connectivity so is definitely for the "going local"/unplugging crowd versus the Type A/amenity loving crowd. This will be my "go to" place in Marrakesh from now on!

“Riad Seduction (In realtà Riad Leila)”

Prezzi a livello europeo.

Area recommendations
Es kommt darauf an, was man möchte.
When to go
März, April, September, Oktober
Getting there
besser Direktflug
Getting around
What to pack
einen Stromadapter, Durchfalltabletten und etwas gegen Übelkeit
Must see
alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, die einen interessieren. Ein Besuch im Hammam ist Pflicht!
Shopping

“Riads Seduction - Layla”

Riads molto carino, i gestori del Riads molto gentili e disponibili, e danno ottimi consigli su come muoversi. Camere pulito e confortevoli.
