“Hot & noisy”

Meridien N'Fis is located on a busy road, approx. twenty to thirty minutes walk from the Jemaa el Fna square, and approx. thirty minutes walk from the centre of the new city (or 15 - 25 MAD in a taxi). The hotel is generally of 4 star standard. Positives: It felt safe to walk in the area outside the hotel even after dark; the buffet breakfast provided variety and quantity; the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Negatives: The hotel turns off the air conditioning for the winter, even though the daytime outside temperature can still reach 30 degrees. Our south facing room was consequently very hot, and there was nothing that could be done about it. The window of our room was also facing the bar, which played loud music every night until after 1am. There was no escaping the noise of the road, which was very apparent at the poolside, and when we opened the window of our room.

Area recommendations
Next time we'd stay somewhere deeper in the Hivernage area, away from the noise of the road and closer to the centres of the old and new cities.
Getting around
Taxis are potentially cheap, but always agree price and destination before getting in, and never accept the first price that the driver gives you. Typically drivers seemed to inflate their prices by 300-400% for the tourists. Be prepared to barter in French.

“Great Hotel”

This hotel is a really lovely place to stay of you are looking for a big hotel. It has a good selection of restaurants - food is very good, Breakfast is much better than most hotel breakfasts. Decent sized pool with plenty of comfy sunloungers. Rooms are quite big & very clean. It is a good 15-20 mins walk from the Medina and there isn't a whole lot else in the vicinity of the hotel except other hotels, which is the only downside. Overall would stay there again.

Must see
Saadian tombs & the Badia Palaceare both amazing. A trip to the Atlas mountains is a must - breathtakingly beautiful. Also the vast majority of souviners you can buy at the souks are also sold in the gift shops at the airport at a fixed price and are actually cheaper! It's great to experience the souks, but you will almost definately pay too much even if you haggle as they start ridiculously high & you feel you have a bargain by getting them down 40-50%, you haven't!

“Le Meridien N'Fis, Marrakech, Morroco”

Comfortable, well placed hotel to visit souks and older historical parts of Marrakech, but it certainly doesn't come up to 5 star. I would rate it as 4 star. Staff were generally friendly and helpful although little English is spoken. The down side is the glum, unfriendly, unhelpful Reception staff. Also Reception is poorly staffed so one has to wait awhile to be dealt with. Breakfast reasonable. Hammam again poorly staffed, so one cannot get an appointment quickly. Spa treatment was alright but I have visited better hammams. Also the poorly lit steam room might be acondemned on health and safety grounds in the U.K. Overall it is a convenient hotel with beautiful gardens and swimming pool where one can relax .

“Will return!”

A good quality, well situated hotel with excellent customer service across the board. Perhaps some of the finer details make the official 5 star rating a bit over the top but this is more than compensated for by the very helpful hotel staff. Dinner's in both the restaurants (Moroccan and Italian) were very good but breakfast service was a bit reactive..don't be afraid to ask for stuff that is apparently finished! The hotel is a 10 minute walk from "La Place" so it's easy to walk in, but we preferred to take a taxi back after a walk round the medina, which cost around 30 Dhr. Will go back!

“Would go back again”

The hotel was typically Morrocan in style. The staff were friendly and happy to help at all times. The hotels gardens and pool area were beautiful and kept extremely clean and tidy. I particularly liked the fact that the hotel supplied towels for use by the pool. The buffet breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice from fresh fruit and cereals to fully cooked. I would definitely go back again.

Area recommendations
If you are visiting Marrakesch you have to go to the main square. It is vibrant and very busy. There are lots of shops in the souks and surrounding the square where you can buy anything from leather goods to candles, glassware. Well just about anything you can imagine. The prices are reasonable too especially if you are prepared to barter (which is a must). You can sit in one of the roof top restaurants overlooking the square and watch the world go by.

“brilliant hotel”

This was our second time in this hotel. The hotel is in a very nice area, the swimming pool is amazing so are the restaurants and the whole hotel. The employees are very nice and polite, the only bad thing is that in the restaurants and room service they speak very bad engglish or none. Just frinch and arabic, but english is spoken fluently at reception and concierge. Over all an absulutely brilliant hotel. I hope to come back soon.

“Good Location, Nice generic hotel”

It was a reasonable hotel in a reasonable location. If I come back to Marrakech I would stay here again. It's within taxi distance to the main square and the souks, there is nothing surrounding the hotel so long walks with things to see are not possible.

“TERRIBLE HOTEL”

This is no way five star!!!! We booked into a Deluxe Room, only to find a plain horrible room with plain white prison walls with extremely poor furniture (this was not the picture on the web). The bathroom was very small and pokey with many loose tiles. The towels are thin, and very grubbily. The gym was very poor. There was no water provided. When I asked for water they wanted to charge me!!!! I told them no way. Every gym in the world can provided water so why can't you? The gym was dirty with old equipment. Very unhelpful staff. Poor, poor food. The table linen was not ironed, and had stains on them. Don't stay here. Try the Soitel.
