“Superb stay”
Walking distance to major sites. The gardens are an oasis of comfort away from the hustle of the city.
“will definately use again!”
Excellent and helpful staff, from the cleaners, the porter, the waiters and receptionisst. They all went out to make our stay a first class one. On the first night we found ourselves in a smoker’s room, my wife could not sleep and had a coughing fit. At one o'clock in the morning, I went down to reception and asked to change the room, without any hesitation they did. We given a free birthday cake on my wife's birthday and they even charged my flip, without any fuss. The location is excellent; about 15 minutes walk from the hustle of the souks into a nice peaceful surrounding. I would highly recommend.
“not the best”
it's not really a good 5 star hotel, frankly it deserves 4 stars, I met a big problem in the room especially with an air conditioner that makes a lot of noise is unacceptable i can not even slep for breakfast is good there a lot of variation on. cleanliness as perfect. not far from jemaa el Fna
“Would highly recommend this hotel”
This is a very comfortable hotel with excellent service. The rooms are spacious and well cleaned. The reception staff are very welcoming and polite. The gardens are beuatiful and create a lovely oasis feel. the pool is also very clean and towels are provided for hotel guests. The location is a pleasant area and it is a 25 minute walk to the main square. I would recommend this hotel as it is very quiet and of a very high standard generally. It is good for couples or families or anyone lloking for a peaceful place stay within walking distance of the city centre - perhaps not for young people looking for fun and nightlife.
“Absolutely not a 5* hotel”
At a stretch this is barely a 4* hotel Very disappointing... Air conditioning didn't work throughout hotel Hotel charges for use of the room safe Nearly £6 for a local beer from the bar lovely gardens and pool area compensated up to a point. All in all a struggling hotel cutting corners...definitely does not deserve its 5* rating
“Interesting Trip”
The hotel whilst claiming 5*'s was very far from the standard of the local Sofitel 5* hotel. I would have considered it closer to 3* but it was fine for a short visit. We arranged a visit to the Atlas Mountains via the hotel. We paid for the 4X4 day trip which was very expensive. On the mornin gof the trip the vehicle arrived - Driver did not speak any english, window demisters did not work ad in torrential rain the vvehicle had no windscreen wipers - It was so bad it was almost funny 'Fawlty Towers ish" buit the downside was that we had no trip and lost the opportunity to see the mountains up close - The hotel did refund our money without complaint. We were in Marrakech for the explosion so you should understand that and review is coloured by this experience - When we asked for guidance at reception on the day of the explosion (what should we do / where should we avoiud / should we consider flying home etc) none was forthcoming and in fact all acted as if it had never happened. No updates etc - we had to rely on BBC News 24 and the internet. We stayed around the hotel for 1 day but weather was not great and without good weather the hotel was not a great place to spend time.
“quiet surroundings”
Although we had a bad start, the hotel staff tried to make sure we were well looked after for the rest of our time. The rooms are large and comfortable with a big bathroom and separate toilet. The gardens are beautiful with lots of places to sit in the shade or sun. Lots of sunbeds too. Food was buffet style and ther was lots of variety with several Moroccan dishes. Scrumptious home made cakes and pastries! Easy to book trips from reception but they did not know a lot about them. Be warned that, if you do a 4x4 trip to the Atlas mountains, and end up at Siti Fatma at the end of a lovely valley, the "walk" to the waterfall is not a walk. It is a climb and not an easy one. On the way down I slipped and sprained my wrist badly. The hotel were excellent at getting a good doctor to me in minutes and hospital xrays were done quickly.
“First time in Marrakech and Africa”
It was our first time to Africa - Morroco Marrakech. It was a lonely trip for 6 days although 3 to 4 days would be just as good enough because Marrakech is actually a small city in comparsion with London. The souk was lonely but don't expect too much from it because the clothing and shoe is quite traditional and old fashion. However, scraf and leather goods like hand bags are good. Definately need to have a good bargaining skill in order to get what you want and don't be afraid to turn them down. Beware of the taxi driver they love to decieve you about places being not open and offer to take your somewhere they know that is better!
“First Trip to Morocco”
Reasonable hotel, but not the star standard as advertised. A member of staff walked in to our room (when my wife was on her own) on the first day, without knocking on the door and the do not disturb sign was on the door. This was repeated next day when my wife was just out the shower. I complained to the management, who came up and investigated using the computer key, but we heard nothing, despite being promised a gift as an apology. This put a dampener on the holiday> The restaurants were not very special and very very overpriced. The mark up on a bottle of water was an insult (30 D in the hotel and about 5 D in a local supermarket). Spa and gym not very special and certainly not worth the money. Lst full day involved the staff moving sun bed with everybody's belongings on them and just dumping them anywhere to allow the pool area to be set up with tables so the L4 Trophy Dune racers could dine out. When asked what was going on, staff were very rude and dismissive. Don't, I repeat DON'T (please don't!) book the vening culture show. Food very very poor and tasteless. The so called culture and dancing was even worse. Be careful of the local taxis. Always ask the bell hops to organise the taxi and more importantly the price and agree this beforehand. So what was good? The swimming pool and the sun. Majority of staff always looking for a tip (I am sure you will work out some of the tips I gave them)
“Perfectly adequate, would make more effort next time to find a better location.”
The hotel was full to bursting with huge groups of mainly French package tours. Nothing wrong with that. 3 restaurants which we tried - all OK not fab. Swimming pool and garden were lovely, location not much good and as none of the streets had names we were a little confused trying to find our way about. It is a third world country and we enjoyed the whole experience but if I was go to again I would work harder to find a better hotel in a better place.
