We spent 4 nights at this hotel as part of a Cosmos Coach tour around Morocco. The tour was scheduled to assemble at the Zalagh Kasbah, so we checked in there one day earlier for convenience. The hotel is on the grand Moroccan style, built entirely around a large swimming pool and sun-bed area. It was too cool (late November) for any swimming but the pool was carefully maintained daily and was spotlessly clean. The public areas were impressive and the breakfast was perfectly adequate - more Continental than "full English, or American", with only scrambled egg, or pastillas as a hot option. There was plenty of breads, rolls pastries, salad items, cereals etc in the style of European hotels.
The only downside was the distance from the hotel to the Centre Ville (ie the Jemaa El Fna Square), where all the sights, souks and mosques are situated. It is some 4kms (at least) and is not on any public transport route. The hotel provides a limited free shuttle service-7 trips daily but the van broke down when we were there. We actually walked into the city using the Kotoubia Mosque minaret as a landmark - there is a pedestrian path lined with rose bushes on the right hand side of the roadway, and the walk is over completely flat land. It took 40 plus minutes. We had no safety concerns whatsoever. Otherwise pay no more that 40 dirrhams for a one-way petit taxi fare - every driver initially quotes 100 dirrhams, which is extortionate.
Supermarket 10 mins walk towards town
"Great location, a quiet haven close to the action"
Great, quiet place to stay, very close to souks
Very peaceful the staff were great, fresh breakfast of bread/cakes with jam and cheese and beautiful freshly squeezed orange juice
If booking via Expedia in pounds be wary that because you have to pay cash at the hotel they base their rates in euros and it they charge at the exchange rate they have at the time - not when you booked. We were charged an extra £5 than when we booked.
Difficult to find - maps of the area are very hard to follow when you first arrive and walking around for about 20 minutes we had to give in to one of the dozens of the local people offering to show us the way (at a price)

Everyone said "stay in a riad for the real experience", but we wanted a decent pool and after extensive research this was the only place within a decent walk of the action so we went with it. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 3rd floor (the rooms all do), which had a real 'wow factor' on arrival - modern and stylish (the hotel is 5 years old). Huge room, big built in telly with Bose sound system, 2 open plan bathrooms and separate toilet and walk in closet.
The hotel did indeed have a very big pool and was 10 minutes from the main square and the new part of town (in the other direction). Breakfast was generous and plentiful (though I do miss my bacon!).
Overall it was a lovely 5 days that I would thoroughly recommend.
After searching frantically for a place to stay in Marrakech after deciding to extend my stay a few days, I came across reviews of this riad and decided to give it a try. It was a lovely break from the craziness of the nearby square and alley ways! I somehow ended up with one of the nicest rooms in the place with its own private balcony overlooking the plunge pool.
I did have a hard time flagging down one of the front managers to settle my bill the night before an early departure, but I chalked it up to it being Sunday and still got everything sorted in a timely matter.
Was slightly concerned that the doors had no locks, but had no issues! Would stay again if I ever go back to morocco!
