“Quiet Hotel”
5* hotel 5* service A place to relax in Marrakech
“A great holiday in a wonderful locaton”
The hotel Es Saadi Gardens is part of a larger complex includng a casino and the Es Saadi Palace Hotel. It is located very close (within walking distance) to the old city of Marrakech. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Some people speak excellent English others speak French with a smattering of English. There is a wonderful pool with recliners and waiter service where you can sit in the morning. We tended to go out to the souk in the afternoon. The food at the hotel was excellent, although we only took the breakfast option, we ended up eating at the hotel on quite a few evenings. Our room wasn't huge but it was wonderfully maintained. The concierge recommended excellent local restaurants and events during our stay. The hotel does it own speciality Morrocan evenings twice a week with a superb 5 course meal and a large variety of local entainers from belly dancers to acrobats.
“Few Drawbacks”
Our main drawback was that the cheaper rooms overlook a slightly noisy road. We are super-sensitive to noise as we live in the English countryside. A change to the fifth floor mainly cured the problem. Otherwise we were very happy and would go back again. Breakfast was a little cold one morning... er, can't think of anything else! Beers were expensive but then they were everywhere. Staff helpful and friendly. Internet didn't work in the room but it did in reception and by the pool. 20m walk into town, partly very tranquil. Lovely weather in Novemberg. What more could you want?
“Very impressed”
The hotel is unfortunately the smaller of two (the Palace looked indeed fabulous -and their swimming pool, inaccessible if you're not a guest, is bigger) but it's still a GREAT way to resource yourself after a day in the sun. The staff is really at your beck and call (so much so, I felt almost embarrassed by it all) and they are EXTREMELY polite (from the breakfast staff to the cleaning staff to the pool side staff, all want to have a word with you and wish you good morning/evening etc). Some even have a wicked sense of humour. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes luxury. Despite this, we had a few problems with bathroom odors (don't think they can do much about this) and the bathroom itself could do with regrouting... but other than that, fab. Room was v big, which is also a plus. Breakfast food fab too.
“Great stay, amazing resort complex”
Fantastic lobby and friendly and helpful staff make you feel welcome. Room decor does look a little dated - I'd recommend getting an upgrade or splashing out more and staying at the palace. DO NOT MISS eating at the Cour de Lion restaurant at the palace - food is great esp desserts, service is impeccable and the decor is incredible.
“Would stay at the hotel again”
The waiting staff were great as were the room staff. The reception not so!!!
“A very plesant hotel”
Nice clean and spacious hotel, with amazing garden and pools. All the staff were really friendly, especially the girls in the Spa. It's located in a really good area with taxi rides to the fanna being only a few dirams.
“Great Old Hotel”
This hotel is in a great location just outside the city wall and because the weather is superb it is just a pleasant stroll away from the Marrakech action! We were on half board and the dinner was excellent and service good every evening. We did get caught out a little on the Friday night when we accepted the manager's special Arabian dinner invitation. This turned out to be a terrific 2 hour show with music, dancers, tumblers, snake charmer, belly dancer etc. This was actually an extra 250 dirhams each but well worth it even though we were not made aware of the cost beforehand. Overall good service and good information from the reception & porter's desks. Well deserved 5 stars.
“Lovely hotel, shame about the staff”
This is a really a 4star hotel by UK terms but despite that it is good. The rooms and pool area are spacious and the location of the hotel is ideal. The chambermaids and room service staff are excellent. However the rest of the staff and particularly the female receptionists are generally unhelpful. The concierge service is limited and you would be better to organise any excursions prior to leaving the UK or direct with a tour company.
“A reasonable 5 star hotel.”
A good large hotel.
