“Excellent location”
Perfect location for the bulk of Marrakech sites. 10/15 minute stroll to both Jemaa El Fna square and the Palaces. Food reasonable, rooms very clean, relaxed atmosphere as only 85 rooms. Use the Hotel Cafe for snacks. Outdoor and indoor (Spa) pools are a bit small so if you must have a large pool go elsewhere. That said, the Spa facilities were good. Free WiFi worked very well and the Concierge even fixed the IP address on my iPhone so that this worked. One potential negative is that they are building an additional unit for the hotel and if you are below the 5th floor, this now blocks out your view of the Koutoubia Minaret and the centre of Marrakech. We were on the 6th, excellent view and a balcony!
“Loved Marrakech”
Hivernage hotel is in a very good location near all the good restaurants and the nightlife. Its only a 10mins walk or a 5mins taxi ride to Medina. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully designed and of a good size. The hotel has a lovely lobbey and a small, modern bar. The Breakfast was good but my main complain was the staff in the breakfast room were not very attentive and sharp and for a 5* hotel they never made an attempt to clear dirty breakfast dishes from our table. This hotel has a small pool but the water was very cold and because of the hotel design you only get the sun for a few hours in the afternoon. I highly recommed this hotel but if you looking for more luxary try the Sofitel which is accross the road.
“Great Hotel and Relaxing Spa”

“Rooms too noisy and worst wireless connection ever.”
We´ve stayed at Hivernage from 26.11 to 02.12 and were not impressed about general hotel services. We were on the 5th floor and could hear the guests in room 604 walk on heals and each time they´d drop things on the floor; this went on almost every night. The sound isolation system is poor. The wireless system was the worst ever. It went from very poor to idle. At first the reception said it was a one day problem, but it never got fixed. The staff despite being friendly were at times messed up and services would at times take very long (toilet paper missing in the room; city maps at reception; plates at breakfast, etc...). We wondered whether the hotel should be a 5 star. It is a good 4 star hotel, but not more than that. Location was very good and the spa services were very good. The restaurante La Table du Marche is very good. However, you can enjoy that, the spa and the good location staying in another nearby hotel for the same or similar room rate, but better overall services.
“Convenient Location”
This hotel is very well situated in a good neighbourhood and within easy walking distance of the medina. Initial impression was that compared with other similar class hotels, the public areas were fairly small, a little dark and slightly opressive, which is of course to an extent the Moroccan style. Our first night was spent in a room with limited natural light, overlooking a noisy building site. When we complained we were moved to a much better room, on the other side (Sofitel side), with a large and very attractive veranda area which made a huge difference. With a few exceptions the staff were fairly off hand and their manner and service left a lot to be desired. We ate each evening at the nearby Es Saadi Hotel where the service was first class. The outside pool looked attractive but spent most of the day in the shade. There is very limited outside space at this hotel and it is quite hemmed in by other buildings. I was suprised that it has a 5* rating. Although I found certain aspects disappointing I would not rule out staying in this hotel again.
“Hotel & Spa recommended”
Reviews read on Expedia were just about right. Yes the Hotel definately has a French bias but anywhere in Marrakech has the French bias to it. Reception staff were attentive although one particular guy on reception spoke better English. The Spa facilities are excellent and we managed to obtain thirty percent discount on treatments we booked on our last day. Outdoor pool was cold (or at least that is the impression we got from those who took a dip) but the area is more designed for relaxation rather than a place for a long swim. Hotel restaurant was good. We booked a trip to the Atlas Mountains through the Hotel and wished we had not done so. We went for a private driver who took us to various establishments (carpet makers, museums, etc.), which were designed to extract money from you in purchase of their goods. They get quite upset if they do not manage to get some cash from you. On the Atlas Mountain trip you will experience the intense poverty and sheltered lives that they live in, which we found quite upsetting. Recommend the tour bus experience, which we bought through Expedia when we booked at about eight pound per head. This gives you a good feel for the city and provides you with your bearings for your stay. You can also hop off and on if you wish to vists some of the gardens.
“Gorgeous, great spa”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Hivernage and Spa. Close enough to the medina, great staff in the pool/bar/spa. Highly recommended---although don't ask for change (or anything else) at the front desk.
“Best Hotel Stay in YEARS”
The hotel was amazing ... one of the closest to Djama Alfana yet not in the middle of the caeos of it ... The staff were Extremely Friendly and understanding. The Spa was amazing. Truely grand hotel for a very reasonable price. Will go back again for sure if i get half a chnce
“Very good hotel!”
I loved when we arrived there were roses in our bathroom, I thoufht the hotel is great, the swimming pool not cold as a lot of people complained in their reviews, staff very helpfull and always smiling mainly the ladies at the reception. Our flight back home was 8 pm and we didn't want to walk anymore in that 50 plus degree Celsius, so they let us check out later and they negotiate the taxi's price to the airport for us. The hotel is literary only 20 minutes walking from the Medina (old town).
“Comfortable Stay”
Hotel was good. Close to Medina - but still a little bit akward to walk to. Outdoor swimming pool is COLD-even though it was almost 40degrees outside. The indoor pool was so warm though and we usually had it to ourselves. Breakfast was a great start to the day, but on occasion the fresh fruit had ants on them ! Very large rooms though.
