We wanted to stay somewhere traditional when visiting Marrakech and that's exactly what we got. We received warm outstanding service. Patrice and Charlotte, the owners, were the reason our stay was so pleasurable. They sent us emails before arrival, arranging our taxi from the airport, they welcomed us with an evening meal, rose petals and intimate music, towels on the bed in the shape of a swan and although not very big, the rooms were clean and comfortable, very private and quiet. We were wandering what we had done as we walked through the very busy square towards the Riad but once we stepped into the Riad it was like stepping into a different world. Patrice and Charlotte came and welcomed us at breakfast, we saw them every day, they would take time out to talk to us, sit and have a laugh with us, took us to the bank, sat had a glass of wine with us. Their hospitality was 10/10. All the staff were very polite professional and welcoming. They were very attentive.
We were in Marrakech for 3 days, we experienced the Souks, visited the YSL gardens, took a tour of the city by horse and carriage, spent a day to Atlas Mountains so managed to experience most delights of Marrakech. Our tour to Atlas was arranged with the private driver of the Riad, reasonably priced.
Staying at a Riad is a totally different experience to a hotel and we would highly recommend if you are going to Marrakech to stay in a Riad, taste the local culture. We would definitely go back.

An oasis from the hustle and bustle outside. Access only on foot for the last few hundred yards. We found we had no small change for the tip for the man who carried our suitcases. The room was charming and every room is different around two courtyards on two floors.

"RIAD ARGAN a lovely boutique Riad close to square"
We stayed 3 nights at this boutique riad in November, 2014 and this was one of the best experiences of our 3-week trip in Spain and Morocco. The 7 room riad has an intimate feel and was beautifully designed and built in traditional style by the wonderful owner-manager Franco-Moroccan couple Francoise and Bernard. They have decades of international experience in the hospitality industry and it shows in the detailed attention to service - you really feel personalized service. Definitely recommend the airport pickup/dropoff service offered through the Riad as the location can be hard to find. The staff are delightful and attentive. Mahasin is an amazing cook - be sure to have at least one meal at the riad to appreciate this! She showed us the proper way to make mint tea. We were given an orientation walk to the nearby main square Djemma Al-Fna (5 min walk) and orientation to a massage appointment and to local shops to find a souvenir coffee pot. Rooms are very well appointed and you will not be wanting for comfort! Wonderful breakfasts on the rooftop terrace. Contrast between this tranquil, comfortable riad and the surrounding chaotic old city is amazing. Happy to recommend this marvellous Riad in old Marrakech!

Our family (me, my wife, two daughters 14 and 20, and father -in-law 86) had a lovely week in Essaouira staying in this riad. The roof terrace can be used for relaxing or sunbathing. Friendly staff, a little French goes a long way. The breakfast is simple (bread, pancakes, olives, tomatoes, eggs) but there is a toaster and it was just what we wanted. It is located right in the medina and not far from the port or beach. Just ask at reception if you want to hire bikes.
"Great location, a quiet haven close to the action"
Great, quiet place to stay, very close to souks
Very peaceful the staff were great, fresh breakfast of bread/cakes with jam and cheese and beautiful freshly squeezed orange juice
If booking via Expedia in pounds be wary that because you have to pay cash at the hotel they base their rates in euros and it they charge at the exchange rate they have at the time - not when you booked. We were charged an extra £5 than when we booked.
Difficult to find - maps of the area are very hard to follow when you first arrive and walking around for about 20 minutes we had to give in to one of the dozens of the local people offering to show us the way (at a price)
