Fabulous relaxing place to stay. Adults only. Very quiet. Very nice and well maintained. Excellent food -- restaurant is top quality. Although not "on the beach," has a private beach club and shuttle running from the resort to the beach club as necessary. And the beach club is only about a 10 minute easy walk from the resort too, so it's no big deal. Food available at the beach club or onsite at the restaurant. Both are excellent.
We booked this hotel to spent an overnighter due to our flight itinerary, we arrived at 1pm the clerk and the bell boy were very prompt with their service and got us check in very quickly and made sure that we were all taken care of. Check out was just as easy the room itself was very spacious with a nice view of the Marina but some of its fixtures are old and should be change.
We stayed with a 5, 3 and 1 year old. Good weather. On check in we did get approached about time share although a few no's and that was it. We were in the Kids & Co room which had bunk beds and sand toys. The bunk bed only had two flat sheets on it (not fitted so it kept slipping off) and it was a comfortable temperature but it would have been nice to been able to cool it off more. My husband and I got bit many times by mosquitoes so bring bug repellant! The floors are made of tile which is nice but the kids did slip in the room and outside although the staff are always out mopping up any excess water. No internet in the room but it was fine; we slipped out to the lobby maybe 10 minutes a day to check mail and such. Everything runs a little later dinner at 7 p.m., shows at 9 p.m., which worked out for us as we had a 2 hour time difference. The pool was nice and had many shallow spots for the kids there is also a kiddie pool. The kids went to the kids club and the 1 year old napped there. My 5 year old loved the night time shows. Always a variety, retro, illusion, pirate and they had a kid show first. Buffet food was average (no long lines), all three reserved restaurants were excellent, if you have patient children to sit through a 3 course meal. We hired a babysitter ($14 hr) for our last night and had dinner together. Very friendly staff. Tipped at bar & reserved restaurants. Everyone had a great time.
I was planning to give this hotel 5 stars all the way around until the last night of our stay. Everything was perfect for our week long stay until that night. A large corporation was hosting a two day seminar/employee recognition event which did not bother us until the concert outside our hotel room that started at 10pm. We had an early flight the next morning (7:45am) and we were trying to get a good night's rest. We had our two children (9 and 4) with us and were very displeased with the thumping from the concert until midnight. We were not able to get to sleep until after it was over at midnight. We called several times to complain about the noise level (it was so loud we could hear the lyrics clearly), but were told they would "check in to noise level". We fully understand that a lot of money was spent by this corporation for the event; I just wish we had been given the option to be moved to another room that night or else warned at check-in about the event when we paid to "upgrade" our room.
I would recommend this hotel to any family that would be visiting Puerto Vallarta . The hotel staff treated me and my family so good from the day with checked in to the day we checked out. The view to the beach was beautiful and rooms were so cleaned . Looking forward to coming back next year . ;)
