The reviews were right, it is in a central location but quiet enough at night with the triple glazed doors. Walls were a bit thin but luckily it wasn't noisy. Breakfast was extra but it was fine. Would have been nice to have had proper tea and fresh milk in the rooms, but this is maybe a Spanish thing. Also no communal area apart from breakfast room, however, really nice staff. Pleased to have a view of the church, just, which when the bells rang, was wonderful.
Helpful receptionist with a great smile and rest of staff were just lovely considering my limited Spanish. Would skip the breakfast next time as exactly the same 2 croissants, bread roll, slice of cheese and slice of ham everyday for 10 days was a bit much when there are 100's of cafés close by. Had a huge room to myself which was spotless. Tried to give the cleaner a day off by putting up the Do not Disturb sign which caused all kinds of havoc - wont do that again.
"A Town Hotel convenient for beach castle and harbo"
The Gran Sol is situated most conveniently for walking to the town centre the harbour the beach and the castle . All the staff are most helpful and do their very best to make sure you enjoy your stay . The roof top restaurant has views to die for and the food is good as well .
For some people's taste the standard rooms may be old fashioned but for 2people the suite arrangement is most convenient .
A hotel to which we have returned many times and always enjoyed our holiday . It is simple and comfortable ideal for adults less suitable for children .
"Very nice apartment in good location in OLD TOWN"
The apartment and the staff were great. The noise from the room above wasn't but I guess there isn't much that can be done about that. It should have been made clearer that you have to check in at the hotel abut 50 metres down the road. Even the taxi driver was befuddled and had to be coerced to wait while we sorted that out. The use of the pool at the hotel was nice and it was a nice rooftop pool. Very close to the castle, the harbour, the main city beach. Handy to the tram and buses. We would go back again in a minute. Thank you to the staff
We visited Alicante to see friends. The Hotel San Remo was only a short distance away so perfect location for us and very close to the beach and the best parts of the town. Good friendly staff, comfortable if basic room. I was glad to have a room with a balcony. It could do with some refurbishment but excellent value for money.
