We had a three nights stay at this outstanding hotel. One of the best features apart from the obvious, great rooms, great staff etc. was that the hotel looked after us after we had booked out and had a significant wait before we had to transfer to the hotel.
We stayed there for 7 days, 6 nights from 14th July until 21st July 2015.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a door supervisor called Joseph Zechariah who was a very pleasant, well presented and humorous gentleman.
We were then approached by a really pleasant young lady called Carolyn Ann Rodrigues who escorted us to the club lounge where we were offered Champagne, soft drinks, other alcoholic drinks or tea & coffee whist we checked in, sitting at a table overlooking the bay of Singapore.....FANTASTIC!!
Carolyn offered us many options to upgrade as i was curious of how fantastic this hotel could become and I was offered an upgrade in a club suite overlooking the bay one side and the Singapore flyer the other side. This upgrade was very reasonable, around £100 .00 per night (I think) and was worth every penny.
Carolyn continued to offer her hospitality throughout our holiday and made the experience unforgettable, addressing us by name, offering assistance and advice on a daily basis and always making time to talk to us about our experiences and her knowledge of Singapore.
The club lounge, which you can use complimentary when staying at certain spec rooms is another fantastic feature. It is literally open all day, changing themes of food and drink throughout the day and always offering ample branded drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
This was the lounge where we met Rizwan Mohamed who is also a credit to have employed by the Ritz Carlton.
Hotel very luxurious but a shame all bar and restaurant facilities are on ground floor. Multi story hotels like this benefit from having a rooftop bar or restaurant when there is such an amazing view available towards the Marina Bay Area.
Check in to the hotel is easy and a brisk. When the check in staff found that it is my first time staying at the hotel he made sure I get a high floor room to ensure that I have a fantastic view from my hotel room
Checking out could have been fast and easy if we had known before hand that charges will be incurred if any items are removed from the minibar, even if it is not consumed. Apparently, there are sensors in the minibar fridge that track any movements of the items in the fridge.
Unfortunately, we had a curious young child who can't read the notice on the bar fridge and was keen to explore what goodies are in store in the fridge. Items that were lifted up or move from their position was deemed by the system to have been removed and hence our room account was charged for the items.
But after a simple explanation to the hotel and a short wait for the hotel staff to inspect the minibar to ensure that none of the items have actually been consumed, the charges were duly removed from our account.
