“Very relaxing stay”
My daughter and I visited during her college spring break and expected a much lively environment. Very quite, very relaxing, and the facility was very clean. It seemed that the resort was filled with either newly weds or those seeking to get married. Although we are not much for visiting the same country twice, if we find ourselves back in St. Lucia, we would certainly select this hotel again.
“Wonderful rain forest marina resort holiday”
Marigot Bay resort is tucked into the south side of lovely Marigot Bay. The topography is hilly rain forest with a marina filled with yachts small and large. The resort is luxurious - the suites are all mahogany with private balconies and gorgeous Caribbean architecture. Some are on ground level, while others are accessed by many steps up. The higher you go, the better the view of the Bay. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurants are good. There are 3 pools on site and a marina village market close by for supplies. A one minute water taxi takes you from the marina across to a small beach where water sports facilities are located. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance. We found the Marigot Bay experience totally charming.
“Not Impressed...Don't go!”
This hotel does not know what customer service is. The staff is not friendly and there is nothing to do here. Literally, you can either eat or lay out at the pool (where there is no service unless you go to the bar). There is not a beach near by. The closest nice beach is in Rodney Bay and that is a $80 cab ride (if you find your own transportation). If you ask for a cab from the hotel they will charge you $120. I would not recommend this hotel or St Lucia to anyone. This was one of the worst trips we have ever been on.
“Great hotel but didn't like St Lucia”
Love the hotel. It is beautiful and Marigot Bay was the nicest town we found in St Lucia. But, St Lucia was less developed then we expected. A great spot if you enjoy relaxing by the pool for a week. Not so great if you enjoy keeping busy with a lot of activities. Chateau Mygo down the street had excellent fish and Rainforest Hideaway is great for a romantic dinner.
“Hotel and Staff were first class.”
The entire staff at Marigot were very personable and did everything to accomodate us in our stay. The people we met in St. Lucia were very friendly and we learned much about their island. The most disappointing part of the trip for us were the rocks along the shoreline that prevented easy access to the sea at every beach we went to in that area. Transportation to some events and sites of interest were very expensive.
“Wonderful hotel with great friendly staff”
Our stay at Marigot was fab. The hotel facilities were great - everything you could need. The food was really tasty and not expensive. The staff were very approachable and helpful. Pool with pool bar was very relaxing. The views from hotel are breathtaking. Overall - Excellent!
“Expensive but worth it.”
The Marigot Bay Hotel is beautiful and has very good staff support. Our room (#1312) had a balcony with two comfortable chairs, a table, and an excellent view of the bay as well as the larger of the two hotel pools. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel is built on a steep slope and there are no elevators. A guest with a disability will need to make sure to get a ground level room and may require assistance getting around to the pools, lobby, and restaurant. Our room was large and lovely with a canopy bed, sitting area, desk, safe, big closets, and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was large and really nicely planned. We had a large shower but no tub in our room. We ate one lunch and one dinner at the infinity pool bar and one breakfast at the restaurant. All our meals were very good. Please be aware that all dining is outdoors. The spa and gym look very nice though we did not use either so I can't review how good they are. We came to St. Lucia to spend a week sailing and booked the hotel for the night before our Moorings charter began. We enjoyed the hotel so much that we decided to spend our last night in the there instead of on the boat and asked for the same room and they were glad to accomodate us. Make sure you go to the Rainforest Hideaway for drinks and dinner. It's the best restaurant we tried on St. Lucia. Just make sure you take bug spray in case the wind dies while you're there.
“Unbelievable Location - a little piece of Heaven”
I would definitely recommend the Marigot Bay Discovery Hotel! The location is unbelievable, the room gorgeous, the staff very friendly! I would definitely go back!
“Quiet retreat”
The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, Food was good but hope that the menu will change. The menu was bascially the same each day with no specials. The menu should have more local meals instead of American food - i.e. hambugers. Amust is to go across the bay to the Rainforest and have dinner. A great seven course meal! The area around the Hotel was quiet and seem to be isolated from the reat of the island. Only problem with the service was the travel desk. They seem to be misinform about which trips was taking place each day. Since the trip we picked did not meet the required number of people we were told late that day and could not re-book another trip for the next day so we had to stay at the hotel for a day. You should go to Soufriere and see the vocano (small) and Toraine Waterfall
“Not Up to Par”
Upon arrival, we were ushered to a basic bay-view room--NOT what we had reserved. When we pulled out our Expedia confirmation indicating our reservation of a one-bedroom suite, it took nearly an hour to correct. The hotel did admit their error and were very sweet about the mistake, but the delay was annoying. Once ushered to our correct room, it was very hot. First we were told to wait an hour as it would get colder soon. We grabbed a drink but returned to a swelteringly room. After a 2nd complaint, a maintenance man declared the air conditioning fixed. Wrong! We spent an excruciatingly hot night's sleep (85 Fahrenheit w/extreme humidity). At 8am the next morning, when our handheld digital thermometer held directly in front of the vent indicated 86 degrees, yet another maintenance man declared the air working! It took another hour before a third maintenance man finally agreed that our room was indeed too hot! After 12 hours of complaining & sweating, the manager finally provided us with a room with working air conditioning (a downgraded room). Our reservation was for only 1 night with a late check out (we’d paid extra for this). We finally got to shower, nap, and re-pack in cool comfort. Overall, our experience at the Marigot Bay Hotel was not a pleasant one. The staff were polite, the views lovely, and the overall hotel design intriguing, but it’s just not up to par with American standards of expectation.
