Had another great stay at the Kummer. Kummern in German means to care for - and they do at the Kummer! Staff are its greatest asset, even if the rooms are a bit small. The breakfast has an excellent choice. Air conditioning in the rooms is great, especially in the recent heatwave.
This hotel was in a great location very close to main train station, Westbaunhoff, which is handy for the easy to use underground to easily get around this lovely City. The main shopping centre is right there with plenty of places to eat & drink. The room was a good size, really nicely decorated and very clean with tea/ coffee facilities and tv. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat breakfast there but it looked good from what we could see. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
This hotel has large rooms, though the decor, furnishings and hallways are a little dated. Still it's clean and the staff are very kind and helpful. The breakfast room, food and staff are great. Also, I was able to check in immediately when I arrived instead of having to return later which was a great advantage. The best thing, however, is the location. It is in a fantastic spot, right in one of the best shopping and dining districts of Vienna. It's also close to two metro stations so you can easily get to other parts of the city.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised.
Firstly, the room was huge! A massive lounge space with a couch, coffee table, TV, fridge, mini bar and a desk/dining table with 2 chairs. This could easily be made into a second bedroom which would be even better, even the addition of a sofa bed would be excellent. The bedroom is large and could easily fit 2 double beds which is what I would have preferred over 2 singles. Again, the bathroom is very spacious with a bath, large vanity and plenty of storage.
The location is also excellent and located right on Mariahilfer Strasse, one of the longest shopping strips in the city. Shops like H&M, Mango, Zara, C&A and plenty of restaurants and cafes. There's a lovely little bio market a few doors down (near the carpark entrance) that has plenty of organic, vegetarian and vegan groceries plus a little cafe.
The staff weren't the friendliest I experienced on this European trip but they always helped out when asked.
I will definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Vienna.
Rooms was large and clean and bright. Good bed, very clean bathroom with shower large enough for 2!!!! Wi-fi , lobby bar, inside court, large breakfast room. Gluten-free available upon request. Grocery 2 min. Subway 4 min. 20min. Walk to downtown. (Circle) Staff very Nice & helpfull.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and enjoyed its great location a lot. We accomplished so much more! We had museums, shops and restaurants just minutes away. Public transportation was also very close by and very convenient.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable and clean.
Just southwest of Vienna's historical center, the Mariahilf district is home to the festive, sprawling Naschmarkt, an open-air market selling fresh produce from around the world, exotic spices, cheese, baked goods, meats, and seafood. Al fresco dining ads to the fun. Mariahilfer Strasse, the city's main shopping street, forms the district's northern border.
