“"Not for me"”
Hotel was not what I thought it would be. But was not a terrible experience. There are many other hotels in Manila area that are better for the same price. One positive note is that the internet was very fast and reliable. The big downside was the location. Spent quite a bit just traveling around.
“Great service, interesting neighborhood”
Fantastic service, can't fault it. Extremely friendly staff from check-in, to breakfast, to doormen, to service (laundry comes before 10am the next day if you give it to them before 10am) to checkout. Security was visible even at 1am. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was even overlaid with marble (I'm sure that means something to someone). Ample towels, staff will happily replace them when you place the "please make the room" sign on your room's door. Breakfast changed everyday and they'll make your eggs/pancakes on the spot. There were six or seven dishes plus an Asian stand. Coffee is filtered and there are juices too (but I didn't try them). There's also some fresh fruit on offer (papaya and pineapple were delicious un-chilled). Finally there were cakes/muffins and breads on offer too. Their croissants and danishes were melt-in-the-mouth good! I don't know if its made on the spot (my heart wants it to be!) or bought (most likely because these things are very labour extensive), but either way the baker, it seems, put twice the amount of butter than what's on the recipe. Delicious! Wifi - only available on Picasso (the restaurant where you have breakfast) but not on the rooms. Location was on the side going towards the airport. The view is nothing spectacular but location was excellent, close to MRT (train), buses and there are cabs waiting inside the hotel. Malls are one MRT ride away. Reasonably pleased, will stay again.
“nice hotel at good location.”
enjoyed my visit at this hotel. My room was large and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern with marble sink. Hotel is tucked in good area and close to malls and 7-eleven. Hotel buffett was good every morning from 6-10 am. Choices were good and all food items delicious. I stay there 9 nights from 22 september -31 september. I definately will stay there again for my next visit to Manila philipines. Also taxi service no problem during my visit. They have currency exchange at lobby desk . The service was very good and always greeted with a smile from desk clerk to maid service . Take care all new visitors to manila.
“A clean place to relax, especially the night before a flight”
We had an early morning flight from Manila so we stayed here for just 1 night. The area, while close to the airport (when it's not rush hour), isn't in a great neighborhood. Like the other travelers said though, don't be fooled by the area. The hotel was clean on the inside, our room was large, and having the restaurant downstairs kept us from having to wander around to find a place to eat. Very convenient.
“Recommended affordable hotel”
Stayed there for 3weeks. Staff was very nice and helpful. Delicious Food, wish they had microwave thogh. Clean bathroom but the tub drains very slow. Free internet but its a bit slow. I would stay there again.
“good hotel in a good location”
Good breakfast and friendly staff. If they had been a little bit faster in getting a cab to the airport for me (it took them about 40 minutes), my stay would have been perfect.
“A relief”
After staying in a so-called three star that ended up being a total dive, this hotel was a relief. Everything was clean, the service was friendly and prompt, and everything has been recently renovated. The food was very good. The television had clear, watchable channels. I would definitely stay here again before taking a chance on another hotel.
“Fabulous stay!”
I truly enjoyed my stay at the New Horizon Hotel! From the front desk personnel, doormen, housekeeping, and restaurant waiters and chefs--everyone was so nice and accommodating. Being a single traveler, I felt perfectly safe in my room. I had the Horizon suite which was spacious. clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and the toiletries were always replenished daily. And the complimentary breakfast was fabulous! There was an omelette station, a Japanese noodle station, and an assortment of salads, soups, Filipino entrees, meats, and fish. The pastries and fresh baked breads were delicious. The menu changed daily. I was also very fortunate to meet Chef Danny on my last day. I would highly recommend staying at the New Horizon Hotel.
“Boston Visitor”
I choose this hotel based on previous reviews by other visitors. They were right on the money as far as this hotel is concerned. Don't be fooled by outside surroundings, inside of the hotel is clean. The hotel staff is always friendly and ready to help. The AC of both rooms worked, but shower curtains need some cleaning. The breakfast buffet was very good and the choices were plenty. The only complaint we I had was overcharging by one taxi driver. The hotel should crack down on taxi drivers who overcharge. I will stay here again.
“Go to LANCASTER HOTEL instead.”
Hotel is OLD. Elevators are creepy. Entrance to the limited free parking is like entering a ghetto area. Me and my wife inadvertently checked-in while hotel was under renovation. Outside noises were imminent but tolerable. I forgot to print-out my hotel confirmation (which other hotels didn't require) and I was forced to use their "business center" just to print out the hotel confirmation they needed and CHARGED me for the usage.. talk about customer service. Room was clean but smelled weird. This hotel is about the same tier as Lancaster Hotel, which is WAY better in value and comfort.
