"Nice, clean hotel, close to Grand Central Station"
I was traveling with my wife. Hotel staff was very kind. Our room was ready when we got there. They even upgraded our room since we were going to stay for 5 nights. The rooftop bar is really nice. I didn't stay for drinks, though, so I can't make a comment about the service. The hotel has an excellent location. 5-minute walk to Grand Central, and from there you can practically go anywhere. Plenty of places nearby to eat and have drinks. It's a good option if you're looking for a decent fare in Manhattan and a clean place with a private bathroom.
Stayed for 5 nights in October 2014. Great little hotel in the perfect location. Less than 20 minutes walk from all top attractions, eg. Time Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Centre, etc.
Room was small, but clean. Housekeeping everyday. Staff were very friendly and always ready to help.
I can only recommend this hotel highly and would stay here again while visiting New York.
Chose this hotel for its location and retro appearance. Upon checking the reviews, I was a bit anxious, as they were so mixed - from great to horrid. After spending 5 nights there, I wondered where the guests who rated it so poorly stayed! EVERY member of the staff was courteous and friendly. The room was spotless, and we were able to get it serviced at 4 in the afternoon when we had slept in. The marble floor was slippery with socks on, but not treacherous! The hotel was quiet, even though there was a fire station 1/2 block away. The location of the hotel was ideal for us. A few blocks to the subway, and a few blocks to most of the theaters. The elevators could fit about 10 people and luggage and the longest wait we had was less than 5 minutes. We plan to return there when we visit NYC again.
Altough a littel prices and over budget, I would highly recommend this hotel for it's midtown location and quality of ammentities and staff. The doorman Patrick to care of all are needs, sorting out baggage storage, taxis and airport transfers. Booked a junior suites as 5 in party - plenty of room with two double beds and a separate room with pull-out sofa. Very comfortable.
This B&B is located on a quiet street in West Harlem. It is conveniently very close to the B/C line subway. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable with a queen bed, private bath, large walk-in closet and small equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, sink, coffee maker and teapot.. The breakfast was ample and suited us: yogurt, cereal/milk, bread, cream cheese, lots of fruit and fruit juices, coffee & tea. There is no elevator but our room was on the third floor and the walk up wasn't bad. We would stay here again and recommend it to others!
Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Fab location. Lifts can be a pain, especially at breakfast time. Lacks a personal touch as staff are always busy. Fair choice at breakfast time but didn't fancy it daily. Would say this is more of a professional/corporate hotel.
