“Wonderful Value!”

We were out and about during the majority of our trip, but our hotel definitely served its purpose. The bedroom and bathroom are both larger than the other European hotels we'd seen and the service was FANTASTIC! The girls up front were incredibly helpful and gave us tips on where to go, what to see and best modes of transportation! Would definitely stay there again!

“Perfect location”

This hotel is in the heart of the city centre - 5 minutes walk from the main rail station Picadilly which links to the airport. 10 minutes walk to the shops and Manchester Arndale centre and we even walked to the MEN arena - the purpose of our trip. Room was clean though a twin room was 2 single beds rather than 2 doubles so was smaller than expected but we coped for the 2 nights we spent there. Hotel had a pool which we didn't have time to use.

Centrally located: All public transportation is well within walking distance. Clean, with a great staff. Watch the loud pubs across the street,(or join them) Good deal for the money. Would stay there again if in Manchester.

“Thistle Manchester: Excellent choice”

The staff was amazing. Very helpful and sweet. My room was smaller than I thought it would be, but it ended up being perfect for one person. It is a great location, especially for shopping in the City Centre. Room service was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend staying here, as I would again in a heartbeat.

Nice rooms, overall size of the rooms are smaller then what I would expect for the price. Hotel has a nice restaurant in the lobby. prices are a high though.

Visited in September and was genuinely impressed with the hotel considering most of the reviews I had read were awful. We were arriving in Manchester at 7.30am and had emailed weeks ahead requesting an early check in as we would be travelling from 2.30am that morning, we received an email saying they could offer us this and I printed it just in case. Good job I did as when we went to check in, the girl at reception (nice as she was) told us we were too early so I showed her the email and she said the request had not been noted on my reservation notes. To cut a long story short, she checked us in and we took the lift to the first floor where our room was. The room was fine, comfortable just a little small but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and that was the most important things. We booked the thistle as it was the most reasonably priced and I feel it was very good value for money. We stayed wed-sat and had a lovely time in Manchester, great city. Our rate did not include breakfast or dinner but we ate in the bar on the first evening and the food in the hotel is good but a little pricey, as are the drinks but I suppose any city centre hotel will be expensive. Great location and close to the shops and Nightlife. I am already booking my next visit to Manchester and will def stay at the Thistle.

“Great value, great location”

Hotel is right in the centre of the city, 2 mins walk to the central shopping district and 5 mins walk from the station. I ordered 2 twin rooms, but was offered 2 doubles instead. The management instantly acknowledged that they had no twin rooms (even though the booking printout stated twin rooms). They offered us an extra 2 doubles for no extra charge! 4 rooms for the price of 2!
