Great location, superb spacious rooms and a good breakfast. Only downfall is that breakfast was very busy on Saturday morning at around 8.15 as they don't start breakfast until 8am unlike 7am on weekdays. This isn't a problem but does become an issue when there isn't enough staff to serve the customers waiting. As a result there were long waits for cooked food and tea/coffee service was variable, unfortunately a lot of people including ourselves couldn't finish and enjoy our breakfasts because we had conferences to attend. overall however a little gem of a hotel in a superb location.

Lovely stay

Posted 12-Apr-2015
The hotel was very luxurious and stylishly decorated. The room was spacious and comfortable and I especially liked the wet room bathroom. The hotel was located in a nice area, close to central parts of the city and within walking distance of trains and buses for transport. The hotel's carpark was slightly expensive (£17) so I used a nearby NCP one (£10). The only down point about my stay was that the breakfast service seemed a little slow and disorganised. However, the food was delicious and staff were lovely.

Excellent location.

Pros: Comfortable, clean and quiet.
Cons: Surprisingly rooms did not have fridges.Needed to store black pudding bought from Bury market. Told people don't want fridges and minibars these days
Location: Positioned conveniently for theatres, the art gallery, restaurants, shopping and public transport. All within easy walking distance.
Visiting Manchester to go to theatre and see friends. Stayed total of two nights. The second night was booked after the initial one night booking, but well ahead of the actual stay. I had written and telephoned to request that these reservations were linked so that we kept the same room. On arrival the receptionist on duty claimed ignorance of this but 'managed' to put us into same room for the two nights. However on return on second day key cards did not work. Other experiences with staff good as they were polite and helpful. For similar cost have stayed in better standard hotels in the city. Used the bar but not the restaurant.

Manchester macdonald townhouse

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Pros: All staff very friendly. Room very clean.
Cons: Room unfortunately room needs upgrading. Staining of grouting in shower and bathroom and overall condition could be improved for price.
Friendly welcome by staff, room larger than expected. Beds comfortable but pillows are awful as too soft (that's just me being picky) The walls are a bit tatty and could do with being re-decorated but is clean. The room is too dark, needs better lighting and although serviced by too large windows, they are high, so you can't see out easily. Bathroom perfectly clean but again tatty. Ceiling awfully tatty and grouting stained in shower and on floor. Not enough washing supplies for a decent shower and no conditioner! Enjoyed reading the welcome book (there are spelling mistakes) oh and there is no card holder near the door! Food good Overall enjoyable but I have stayed in cheaper, with more upmarket rooms. The room is letting you down for the prices you charge.

Pros: Clean room and comfortable
Cons: Soundproofing of windows as,directly over main road
Great hotel but very poor sound proofing in bedroom. Traffic and people could be heard throughout the night. Great hotel and room otherwise

Ideal hotel stay for trip to the Palace theatre.

Posted 08-Feb-2015
Pros: Modern look & close proximity to the theatre.
Cons: The hotel lacked abit of character & personality. The staff were pleasant enough, the room & bed were comfy & adequate, but the bar area abit bland.
Location: Close to the Palace theatre.
The hotel was a pleasant stay for a night when we visited the theatre.

Aamiainen ok, appelsiinimehu maistoi pilaantuneelta kerran aamiaisella. Respa tytöt ystävällisiä.
