poor attention to their customers needs

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: try to see if they could help their customers
Having booked the hotel 2 weeks in advance 4 rooms my clients from london had to change their plans and i requested well in advance to cancel the rooms. as it was a big match night in manchester they could have been sold and i said i would accept a partial credit note to stay their again so no refund.Despite expedias best efforts the hotel refused.I would have been happy to have paid the bill if they were unable to sell the rooms but they made no effort to show any aspect of customer care.

OK hotel downtown

Posted 16-Mar-2014
The staff behind the desk were OK, but not specially welcoming. Female support staff were very helpful, nice and friendly. The bathroom was clean and modern, the room itself nothing special and the carpet didn't seem particularly clean. No charm and the location was disappointing.

Excellent hotel

Posted 16-Mar-2014
Excellent hotel and while I appreciate it is in the city centre I would suggest taking your own ear plugs as it is extremely noisy and what should have been a romantic night away for our wedding anniversary we ended up with no sleep due to outside noise!!!!!!

Good central hotel

Posted 23-Feb-2014
Very close to the city centre, this is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. We stayed for two nights, and on the first night the room was too hot due to broken AC. We reported it 3 times during the second day and nothing got done until we got back after dinner in town which was a shame as we like the rest of the hotel.

Macdonald Townhouse Hotel.

Posted 22-Feb-2014
Pros: Friendly, welcoming staff, lovely rooms and décor, dining options.
Cons: Restaurant menu is a little limited but what there is was good.
Location: 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly station
I've stayed there twice in past three weeks for one night on each occasion and on both occasions all the staff without exception have been amazingly helpful and really nice. I travel alone and have used the hotel for informal meetings in the lounge bar as well as staying there. I cannot fault it for a city centre experience and have stayed in a number of hotels in the centre of Manchester and this is definitely my favourite.

Not upto Standard

Posted 21-Feb-2014
Pros: The rooms were very nice.
Cons: Responding to guests requests, speed of service, experience of the staff.
Location: Not what I was there for but plenty of bars and theatres. Good restaurants not too far from the location.
The hotel was under staffed, service was slow (probably because of this) and far too noisy. Whilst the staff tried their hardest they lacked the experience to provide the service expected in a hotel such as this - this was evident in all streams of operation within the hotel. Despite requesting a 'quieter' room I was placed at the front of the hotel - the noise was constant from traffic and clubbers. In most instance the noise didn't quieten down until after 04:00. The room was very nice, stunning bathroom and very comfortable beds.

Great hotel and close to shops bars and restaurant

Posted 20-Jan-2014
Pros: Very central, trendy deco and the staff were very friendly. The bedrooms were clean and nice furniture and best of all comfy bed and pillows ;-)
Location: Very central and just over 5 min walk to the shops ..plenty of pubs and restaurants...
We arrived at the hotel quite early, and we thought that we would have to wait till 2pm..but the Receptionist was very nice and gave us our rooms early. On arriving back after a busy day shopping we sat in the bar and had a drink, and we asked a mamber of staff on the reception desk if he could recommend a restaurant for that evening.Nothing was a bother at all,he printed directions and booked the table for us.. This is my second visit here and will be staying there again and also recommend to my friends ;-)
