“View from the top”
I have long wondered what the Hilton Manchester was like and I can say that after all the build up it was worth it!! The hotel is spacious and clean and doesn't have the endless corridors or over crowding that is often the case with city centre hotels. Having booked a standard room and chancing my arm for an early check in I was tempted by the upgrade to an executive room which included a high floor, access to the executive lounge with aperitifs and canapes included as well as a buffet breakfast. The room was large and airy with very nice decor, I was particularly impressed with the bathroom with it's larger than average shower. The floor to ceiling window offered great views over the city which transformed as day turned to night and the shoppers were replaced by brightlights and miles and miles of fascinating ciryscapes. The executive lounge was well worth the investment with hot and cold canapes, friendly efficient staff who were on hand to serve drinks, replenish the food and answer the many questions that guests had abut the stunning views. The breakfast the following day was nicely cooked and very tasty. All in all I rate this as one of the better hotels in Manchester. I will definitely go back and would recommend it to anybofy.
“The closest experience I have had to staying at Fawlty Towers.”
I don't know if we caught them at a bad time but our experience of staying at the Hilton Deansgate was incredibly bad. Perhaps I should have been suspicious when this was the only hotel that I could find any availability in during the conservative conference. The air conditioning in our room and throughout the hotel was broken because of an ongoing electrical problem. As a result it was like trying to sleep in a sauna. The first night there was no running water. At 4.00 am the fire alarm went off, again apparently because of the ongoing electrical problem and all the guests had to leave the building for about two hours. The staff could not get the lifts working and eventually we returned to our room via the service lift. On our last day we were informed that the electricity in the entire building would be turned off for about 4 hours and we had to check out early. Unbelievable! No apology whatsover from the management or offer to compensate any of the guests for the appalling service. Positives? Some of the staff were very nice and clearly embarrassed about working there. The bacon and eggs were quite good at breakfast.
“Perfect hotel for Manchester!!”
Excellent hotel and location perfect for all areas of Manchester. There was a bus stop at the bottom of the road which took us straight to Traford Centre and back again, perfect for lots of shopping bags! Had spa facilities, gym and pool too which was a nice break too. Also got privilidge entrance to Club 23, which can view whole of Manchester over a cocktail. Staff very friendly.
“Excellent Hotel and Service”
My second stay at this hotel and it was again excellent. AAA+++
“Manchester is definately worth another trip - more than 3 days too.”
Some parts of our room were a bit "tired" e.g. lampshades. The buffet breakfast was almost perfect, only let down by the bland coffee. Apart from this, I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Manchester. There is a big NCP carpark immediately across the side road by the hotel and the Deansgate tram stop is only a two minute walk away.
“wish i had stayed another night.”
Had a wonderful time staying in the Hilton in Deansgate. We stayed in an executive room on the 18th floor and it was excellent value for money. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the executive facilities on the 23rd floor, views over the city amazing, and had a brilliant time in Cloud 23 ( cocktail lounge also on the 23rd floor). Every member of staff we met were very curteous and professional. The Hotel is very central and we were a short walk to fantastic shops/ restaurants and bars.
“will definitely be back.”
we came to manchester for new years eve, and hoped it would be an enjoyable experience, which it was. helped by staying at the hilton and a visit to cloud 23. The staff were very helpful and polite and the rooms comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back, hopefully very soon.
“One of England's Finest”
One of the nicest hotels in England! Beautiful accommodations and great service.
“Sleeping in an astray -my room stank.”
I booked a non smoking room weeks in advance, but upon check-in was forced to take a smoking room. It was like sleeping in an astray, as I walked into the room their was a haze accross the bed and it stank. The staff were utterly unhelpful, and despite making a formal complaint I didn't hear anything back. Avoid.
“Outstanding Stay in Manchester...”
This bold and imposing hotel is based in Deansgate which is just a brief walk from the bustling shops and funky bars and clubs. It overlooks the skyline at over 50 floors, has an immaculate interior with acclaimed Bar23 on the 23rd floor, restaurant on ground floor, gym, sauna and swimming pool facilities.
