“Great location but needs a paint job”
Great location but needs some renovation. The bathrooms and corridors to the rooms especially are dark and shabby. Powerfull shower.
“Cheaper than the Malmaison and no real difference!”
Well located, clean and did all that was asked of it
“Very Convenient”
I have put 'yes' to the question on whether I would recommend this hotel to others, but with the reservation that its only for one or two nights. We booked for one night on a room only basis. We chose this hotel because of the convenience of walking from Piccadilly Railway Station and its central position opposite Piccadilly Gardens and walking to the "Take That" concert at the Manchester City Football Stadium which was well signed and took 30 minutes. All the shops, restaurants and convenience stores, where we bought our breakfast of cereal and milk, are on the doorstep. The hotel room had a supply of tea, decaf and ordinary coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits, hairdryer and, to our surprise, an iron and ironing board. From previous comments we weren't expecting too much but our room was clean and comfortable and the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel does need updating, but it suited our purpose. We had our evening meal at the Rosso restaurant and bar in Spring Gardens. Excellent and reasonably priced.
“Location and price!”
I wasn't expecting too much from this place, given the price, but it turned out to be excellent! The hotel is located near the Northern Quarter, just steps to the main shopping area on Market Street and Afflecks, and less than ten minutes walk from Piccadilly train station. The room was very clean, and larger than I expected. It even had a nice desk area, perfect for doing work. Wireless internet was free, and very fast! I also enjoyed the flat-screen tv with lots of channels! There were a couple of homeless people milling about in the neighbourhood around dusk, but other than that, it's a great location. I can't say enough good things about this hotel!
“Good Value”
The Gardens Hotel is an older hotel that has been refurbished. It has a good location, just a 5 minute walk from Manchester Picadilly train station, & close to shopping & restaurants. The rooms are small, but clean. I had an inside room with no view, but there was no street noise as a result. I did not partake of the breakfast which is not included in the tariff. The hotel met my expectations.
“Only go here if convenience of location is a high priority”
This Hotel in isolation is barely average in quality, the decor generally is way past it's best before date. However, it is clean, surprisingly quiet inside and very convenient for the city centre and Piccadilly railway station.
“Excellent customer service”
Don't expect anything fancy, but for the location and price I really can't fault it.
“Good location”
Generally good. Lampshades in room are balanced on top of lights and are positively dangerous especially on a wobbly table. Not all bathroom fittings worked. TV was not working but was rectified immediately. Breakfast choice good. Not suitable for physically handicapped as there are stairs everywhere. Good location for travelling around Manchester and for shopping.
“Excellent”
Great location & fantastic rates
“Good Location”
Good hotel, clean and warm rooms. Very quick check in/out. Hotel entrance/sign needs updating, didn't give a good impression but once inside the hotel was very good. Didn't stay for breakfast (£80) so unable to comment on the food.
