only one disappointment- a late evening room service order took 45 minutes to deliver, and had a mistake that needed fixing. but they were very polite.

“Comfortable but noisy”

The hotel itself is very charming, and the room (although VERY small) was comfortable and clean. The location is great since the hotel is so close to the airport (but not what I would call walking distance and I did walk A LOT during that trip). The hotel has a complimentary shuttle service that will take you from the airport and back. My only concern was the noise and a window that I could not completely close. The hotel was hosting a wedding reception, and the music went full blast under my window until 1 am. Also, make sure you have a back-up alarm clock. I called the reception for a wake-up call and no one ever called me or knocked on my door. For a hotel of that standing, you would expect they would honor something as simple as that. They did not have a problem calling me back downstairs to photocopy my expedia booking information again and get my credit card information. I felt as if the receptionist did not believe that I had a reservation when I checked-in. So overall, comfortable and clean, but very noisy. I would consider staying somewhere else.

“Not impressed”

We were not very impressed with this hotel as there were number of things tat did not make for a good stay. When we first arrived in our room it smelt of damp, the carpet looked as if it had not been vacuumed in some time as there were bits on it. In the bathroom the tap on the shower kept on falling off every time we had a shower. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the mattress was too soft and the pillows felt as if there were rocks inside them they were so lumpy and hard. The biggest complaint I had was that our air-conditioning did not work for the full duration of our stay and when I complained at reception I was just brushed off with the answer that the hotel were ‘waiting for the engineer’ and we were not even given the option of an alternative room. If they knew that there was a fault then they should not have let the room out until it was fixed. I will certainly not be using this hotel again and would recommend that anyone considering it should look at alternative hotels.

“Etrop Review”

Very nice accommodating staff but the hotel is in a heritage building with poor plumbing and electrical infrastructure. They cannot make changes because heritage buildings are to be maintained in their original state, under laws which are enforced by the government. The result is a "quaint" hotel

“I will definitely stay here again when I go back to Manchester for business”

The hotel is charming, quaint, and personalized yet has free wi-fi throughout and other convienences you hope to find in a hotel I was on business but felt like I was on vacation. They have a cozy pub where you can enjoy a pint, but log onto your computer and catch up on emails at the same time. The food was very good, and the dining room felt like you were in someone's home. Very comfortable. Staff was very accomodating.

“Very nice small hotel”

The hotel was easy to find with a GPS. We checked in early and our room was ready. The desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. We used the shuttle service to the airport and the driver was very helpful and friendly. I did feel that the meals and especially the breakfast buffet were overpriced. Knowing this I would stay there again and would recommend this hotel.

“nice hotel. will stay again”

Despite very mixed reviews on this site, we found our 2 night stay to be very comfortable. The hotel is a regency (I think) house and we had a very nice room at the back of the hotel, which we couldn't fault. Our only issue is with the fact that there was a wedding on the Saturday and only one poor barman serving at the bar, having to serve both the wedding party and the other hotel guests. We didn't have breakfast included in our room rate, but the charge is about £10 each, which we thought a bit excessive.

“Great value on-airport hotel”

The room only rate via Expedia is very low, so it's a good value stay even after buying the (excellent) breakfast. If you are parking at the airport this is definitely the best way to avoid the M62 rush and get a civilised start to a holiday. There was a wedding reception on when we stayed but the room was still very quiet.

“Comfortable and Convenient”

We only stayed one night, but the service and convenience was outstanding.
