“Practical”
Reasonable hotel given rates on others in town on that evening. Room a little cramped. Location is ideal for the main station. Free Wifi is a bit patchy in the room.
“Good value”
Great hotel & service. Unfortunately, neighbouring guests very drunk & noisy. Walls very thin. Staff did come to noise problem as soon as notified. Basically this hotel was very good value & clean- just be prepared for disturbed sleep
“smashing hotel”
was very happy with our stay hotel very good people very friendly and helpful
“Ideal cheap/clean city base”
I booked this hotel as my boyfriend and I were going to the O2 Apollo and we didn't want to spend a lot of money on a one night stay. This hotel was convienient for that (only £4 away from the venue in a taxi) and also piccadilly train station/city centre as both are located only a ten minute walk away. The room was clean and basic but everything you could want. Would stay here again, the staff were polite and friendly and the hotel itself is in a good location.
“Days Inn, Manchester, UK”
This place, I guess, was probably student accommodation for the University of Manchester, as such the rooms are rather small but warm and comfortable with en suite. There is a restaurant but I did not use it for my short stay. Location is central for Oxford Road and Piccadilly but I found the place difficult to find, even using a GPS and had to ask at the nearby Ibis Hotel for directions. No on site parking but a multi storey car park is about 100mtrs away on Charles Street
“Good location for Manchester centre, great value”
Stayed there while attending a conference near Piccadilly and can't really complain. We only needed it for sleep over and it did the job.
“Convenient for O2 Apollo Manchester”
We looked for somewhere to stay in walking distance from the O2 Apollo Manchester which this certainly is (just under a mile) so would recommend it for that. Plus, it's only £2 a day over the weekend at the car park opposite the hotel. Hotel did a 2 course meal for £7.95 which was good quality and quick. Room was tiny - double bed squashed against wall but was clean with good use of space. You could hear noise from surrounding rooms and I suspect Halls of Residence are next door means it could get noisy. But for one night, and the amount of time we were in the room, it didn't bother us. Service was good and overall, for a budget hotel, it was good and less impersonal than many budget hotels.
“If you want to Sleep, Don't go here in University term time”
This hotel is next to the Student dorms and even though we requested an upper quiet room, had a second floor room overlooking student dorms. Loud music until 2.30am then screaming and shouting at 4am when they came home from their nights out, and we stayed mid week. the bathroom has a noisy fan that can be heard in your room and the adjacent ones. The Restarunt had good food and the early dinner deal was value for money.
“manchester canal st area hotel”
if you book reasonably in advance you can get some great rates at this very conveniently located hotel. for those visiting the bars and nightclubs around canal st, this hotel is affordable, very clean and a 5 min walk from canal st. also chinatown is just up the street to grab something to eat. 10 mins walk is manchester piccadilly train station which i walked to and from with my luggage and it wasnt a problem at all. in fact, everything is within walking distance of this hotel - so convenient. my room was small, but it had a double bed and a nice big shower - no bath - but i was happy with the lovely shower. everything was modern and clean and worked - just as it shud be. the curtains were of the blackout kind so you could sleep in if you wanted. for breakfast i went to KRO in piccadilly gardens - excellent food and atmosphere and friendly service. they serve lunches and dinners too. - very nice and reasonable prices too. - walking distance of the hotel. i would definitely recommend this hotel for visiting the canal st area of manchester.
“What happened to the loo door?”
A lovely hotel in a central location. My single room was nice but I would have preferred a door on the bathroom/shower room, and a full wall around the shower instead of half. Apart from that, everything was fine, and I liked the cheap mulled wine offer!
