“Hmm interesting!”
If you are looking for a relatively cheap and very central location then this could be what you are looking for but dont expect four star - the fixtures and fittings need some serious TLC and a window is considered a luxury! The staff were very pleasant and keen to assist but would be a lot happier if the tariff about a third of the price. But taking all this into account would stay again.
“Tired but value for money”
I had a really good rate, and I would go back if I got that rate again. The room was "tired" but OK. My only complaint was the quality of the bed, where I had to sleep on top of the duvet because the springs were making physical impressions on me. I speak as someone to whom it has never occurred to complain about a bed.

“perfect for a long weekend”
We were on a budget and secured a very goos price for the accommodation, we were looking for a reasonably priced, clean hotel with ensuite facilities and that's exactly what we got. The room didn't have a window but as we literally were looking for a bed to crash in it was of no concern. The staff were friendly and efficient - all amenities are on the doorstep - check in and out was fast and efficient.
“Manchester's House Of Horror!!!”
We booked this hotel last minute from Manchester airport via Expedia.com. When we arrived at the hotel the reception looked old, worn and very run down. Our first room we got allocated had no windows, was dark and dull, very old and the bed was like a rocking horse it was totally unstable. I then complained and got moved to a different roon that had a window but again was old, run down and overall the hotel was not clean. Two things that the hotel had in it's favour was the excellent service staff and the great location of the hotel .if you are looking for a place in Manchester to stay, this house of horror's is not the place!!!!!!
“Not impressed - Try other Hotels in the area.”
Superior Room for 3 nights. Check in went fine- staff were friendly/helpful. Room had ‘fusty’ used aroma-bath panel hanging off, bath well worn and did not give you any confidence to ‘jump in’, wardrobe doors fell off when opened, there was a large leak stain where the ceiling was bowed. Air-conditioning/other services where fine although were ‘tired’.At 3 to 5 a.m awoken by delivery lorries to the local shopping arcade. ( Dependant on room location). Second day apparent maid had not been, advised the reception who informed they would replace the towels, on request, but due to a new company policy room maids where not available until check out. You have to put up with the toilets, sink, cups, bath, room or bed not been cleaned or changed until after you leave (This little detail not on Website?). Other rooms no better. Breakfast was not included but could be arranged for £5 – good value hot & cold but basic. I did not look for a cheap deal especially as I had upgraded and was disappointed generally on all points. Not value for money.Other hotels in the area are about thesame price but offer much better quality facilities and cleanliness. If .Would not recommend this hotel unless you received a very very cheap deal and it was only for one night only.Gym-Let’s say the experience was character building.Note: In all my years of frequently stopping in hotels across the country this in the first time I have felt the need to record my disappointment.
“Don't go for economy”
I wanted a cheap place to stay for a night out in Manchester, and it wasn't too cheap for a cheap room, but what i got was an internal room (no windows), a pretty uncomfy single bed, a tempremental shower, and an airconditioner/fan that just made noise rather than cool the room. I'd rather have spent the extra money and got a 'normal' room. the lifts were very slow, but the wedding party that was well dressed might lead me to believe that other parts of the hotel are better quality. Staff were friendly/helpful and the location is great. But i learnt my lesson about going for the cheaper option.
“Cheap stay in the sultan's palace - don't get your hopes up xx”
When I first arrived to check in, my room wasn't even ready yet, so I had to leave all my luggage there, and then kill time for 3 hours before I could come back. Finally, I get my key, go to my room and find that my room has no window [!!!!] What kind of hotel room doesn't have windows? My water temperature wasn't working properly [either extremely hot or extremely cold], and there was peeling wallpaper and mold stains. For the money I paid, I did not feel like I got my money's worth. The only plus to my stay was that the hotel staff was EXTREMELY nice and always willing to help in any way. However, it didn't compensate for the poor state of the room. My boyfriend and I woke up on the third night at 3:00 AM and decided to "escape" the dreadful place, never to return [even though it had been booked for 14 nights!] Don't come here unless you're only seeking a good city location, no matter how dreadful the place is.
“Not Impressed”
- The ironing room was a small pokey room with one board and iron and you had to bring your own water - the beds (2 weeks 2 rooms) were uncomfortable with the springs very promenant when lying down - the shower dripped through the night - the hot water was inconsistent - but the hotel restaurant and bar were the worst. on the firts night the team from work ate at the hotel and they managed to get garlic bread wrong it wa sthe worst meal i ever had out. breakfast was basic and again inconsistant with tea in an urn that was always over stewed even firts thing.
“The 'hourly' Britannia Sachas hotel”
The hourly room rate displayed in the front window was a little disconcerting, but upon check-in I asked for an upgrade for my room. I was advised 'certainly you can have a room with a window' - again slightly unnerving. The bar closed at 11pm which for us on a works night out was rubbish but as it was about 4.30am I would let them off. The most disturbing comment I have to make is the quantity of mould in my room which fell from the ceiling and around the window, consequently I had to sleep with a towel over my head to stop the mould landing on me. Altogether not the best accommodation I have slept in but definitely up there with the worst!
