“Not Impressed”
Possibly one of the worst night's of my life. We were put in a smoking room which was disgusting- even the towels smelled of smoke. When we requested to move we were told, quite rudely, there were no other rooms available. The people in the room next to us also kept us awake all night. Can't believe I paid good money to stay here only to be tired and grumpy the next day
“tired and in need of modernisation”
Although check in was speedy and the lobby was quite grand, we were not impressed with the room. It was clean but fixtures were old and dated. Luckily we didn't spend much time in there. A premiere inn or travelodge are more modern so I would opt for that!
“Great value for money”
A handsome building in a convenient part of the city centre - not the prettiest area, but 5 mins walk from the better areas. Rooms were small but very clean and in a good condition. Staff professional and efficient. Very good value for money, and a good base for exploring the city.
“very good value for money and super well located”
very good value for money and super well located
“well located but uncomfortable”
The Hotel is very well located close to manchester piccadily railway station, while it is a little run down it neat and clean and the staff fairly nice. However, considering it is on the main road, the room was very noisy, and the shower did not work in the morning. So overall while the room was ok, the stay was uncomfortable. It was reasonable compared to its location but I would look at other hotels in the area next time.
“tired and worn interior appearance detracts from old world grandeur”
This hotel is in a grand old building which has much to recommend it. The staircase and chandelier in the foyer are spectacular. The reception staff were great. But the house-keeping staff struggled with their English and were abrupt and grumpy when asked for assistance. Our hotel room was enormous. But it needed better cleaning and maintenance. 2.5 to 3 star rating is about right.
“Wonderful city centre hotel”
We were very pleased with the hotel, asking for and being given a quiet spacious room high up. No complaints.
“Good location”
Room was clean and tidy, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, good location, and a great staircase!
“Average, reasonable value”
Great location, grand interior design, but in need of a makeover / lick of paint. Free wifi is always a bonus & room was are comfortable. Bathroom was very average.
“Avoid if you can!!”
My room had no windows at all!! No air coming from anywhere, extremely smelly everywhere, even in the corridors. The hotel is pet-friendly and smoking is allowed in some of the rooms!!! You should avoid it if you could...
