This lovely old building has been given a new lease of life as a wonderful hotel. One hesitates to use the term "charming" for a city hotel but that is what this building is. The old internal cast iron columns have been retained and the floors opened up to provide an airy atrium like space to welcome guests as they walk in. The brickwork is exposed and the industrial history is ever present as you move around the hotel. The staff are attentive and helpful and willing to go the extra Mile for the guests.
The Lowry is under new management and I'm over the moon. Apart from our perfect wedding reception at this hotel a few years ago our latest return to the venue has been the best ever. There appears to be a calm efficiency and a lighter touch to providing top notch service without the condescending snootiness we've experienced on previous visits. The Lowry is on the boundary of Manchester and Salford, named after one of the region's humblest characters and it's the same unpretentious charm that will be a hit with its guests.
My sister and I stayed for 3 nights on a shopping trip to Manchester. The hotel is central but no noise. Room large, very clean, comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Staff very attentive, polite and friendly. Cloud 23 definitely worth a visit though we did not realise the kitchen closed at 8.00pm. We would definitely go back if in Manchester again.
Hotel and staff were really lovely and friendly , restaurants and food was top class, except for breakfast which I thought was a bit pricey £ 22 for two people as it was only £9 for a three course evening meal , otherwise everything else was exceptional .
Very spacious, well furnished apartments, set within a well maintained and attractive building and well positioned for the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave the impression of nothing being too much trouble. It isn't too often that somewhere like this exceeds your expectations, but The Place certainly did.
If I had one small quibble, one of the lifts was out of order, which meant queues inevitably formed for the remaining lift, which did lead to some long waits at times - but frankly, it happens, I'm sure this was dealt with as soon as was possible, so really more of a passing mention than a complaint.

I stayed here for a work trip for 2 nights. I was very happy with my room (nice high ceilings, incredibly comfortable bed, ironing facilities in room, very large, clean shower with strong water pressure and extremely nice bathroom amenities and soaps). I had a few coffees and a drink in the restaurant and on the patio, but didn't have time to try the fine dining restaurant. I had to ask staff every few hours for directions to my appointments and they gave me a lot of their time (and maps) to make sure I knew the right way to get where I was going. I can not recommend this hotel enough. Thank you team Abode!
