This lovely old building has been given a new lease of life as a wonderful hotel. One hesitates to use the term "charming" for a city hotel but that is what this building is. The old internal cast iron columns have been retained and the floors opened up to provide an airy atrium like space to welcome guests as they walk in. The brickwork is exposed and the industrial history is ever present as you move around the hotel. The staff are attentive and helpful and willing to go the extra Mile for the guests.
Arrived early before the 15.00 check in time but a room was available so able to check in straight away.
As always a spotless room
The only problem was being woken at 2.40 am by inconsiderate guests playing loud music in the next room

I really enjoyed my extended stay here. The location is fantastic, the room was fantastic (I was fortunate to be upgraded) & the staff were lovely. The only "issue" was noise from other guests as it seems to market towards hen parties & groups of lads in Manchester to party - but it really wasn't a huge problem (it was limited to the weekend only).

"Fantastic location and disability friendly staff."
We only stayed one night but as my wife is a disabled person, partially wheelchair enabled, our hotel experiences can be disappointing....however this was far from the case at Doubletree! The staff were welcoming, understanding and well trained to ensure we both had a lovely stay. The hotel facilities are good for those ambulant disabled and I would recommend this as an excellent spot with the bus terminus and railway station immediately over the road!
Breakfast is well worth the investment, rooms clean, tidy and comfortable - excellent value all round!
