“Staff succeeded in making our visit fun, comfortable - and safe”
The new owners have made this an excellent hotel, particularly for English-speaking guests. They have a small hotel which gives excellent customer service. They didn't just want us to enjoy the hotel; they wanted us to have a great experience in Granada - which we did. They advised us on restaurants and other needs. The rooms surround a courtyard with a fountain, ferns, and other plants - and 2 doves that built their own room in one of the bushes. The breakfast options ranged from local cuisine, traditional North American food options (e.g., scrambled eggs, pancakes), fruit, cereal, coffee, and juice - among the best breakfasts included with a room that we've had. Our room was large, with 2 queen size beds, making it quite comfortable for 4 people. The air conditioning was great - making a good sleep much easier to get. Beds were very comfortable. TV had ample options for English-speakers. Internet access was easy. The hotel is located away from the more touristy plaza area, so you feel much more connected with the community. Ice cream and pastries are close by. An historical church is across the street with an excellent view of Granada from the bell tower. While you are there, do visit the local museum, get a guided tour of Granada from a carriage (make arrangements with Casa La Merced), take a canopy tour with zip lines, tour the Mumbacho, tour the reserve. It's about 45 minutes to the Managua airport and the hotel will arrange transportation for you.
“A Great Place to Stay!”
The rooms at La Casa Merced are very nice and very clean. The beds are comfortable and the water is hot! The courtyard is beautiful and a great place to eat breakfast. When we stayed, our breakfast was included. It was continental, but you could also order a hot breakfast. Nicolette, one of the managers, is fluent in English which was very helpful. She arranged tours for us and transportation to the airport. We also enjoyed talking to her. We liked the location of the hotel because it is within walking distance of the main square and the street with all of the outside restaurants.

THE ATTENTION WAS EXTREMELY GOOD. THE PERSONEL ALLWAYS WILLING TO HELP US IN ANY WAY THEY COULD. TELLING US WHERE TO GO, THE BETTER PLACES TO VISIT, WHERE TO EAT VERY GOOD AND NOT SO EXPENSIVE, GIVING THE ADDRESSES IN A WAY WE COULD UNDERSTAND. DEFENITLEY WE RECOMMEND THE HOTEL AS A FIVE STAR.
