Quiet hotel with lovely restaurant
we visited this hotel out of season, so it was relatively quiet, but very enjoyable. the apartments are well stocked with pans, tea towels, washing up liquid etc. There is plenty of space for 2 (I wouldn't recommend for 3) and it is only a short walk to shops and the beach (although the hill is quite steep). We had a hire car which was invaluable for getting about, but if you want just beach and pool holiday, this is not necessary.

The apartments have an absolutely beautiful pool, and the area is lovely and quiet. Our apartment had a spectacular sea view. The restaurant was also lovely, very well priced and excellent food. However, be advised that you really do need a car if you're going to stay here. It is a LONG walk down to the nearest beach, and an even longer one to somewhere with a supermarket or any amenities. This would be perfect for a quiet stay, but we did not have a car, which was a bit of a problem. Hiking up very steep hills in the heat gets tiring! The apartments themselves were clean but a bit basic. Still, we had a lovely time.

A good location - very peaceful and quiet. Pool and pool area were lovely and tennis court was in good condition. Room had been recently decorated and was very clean on arrival. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient

3 night stay
The facilities provided in our self catering apartment were the best and cleanest I've come across. Everything you needed and more were provided, eg: washing up liquid, cloth, tea towel, clothes airer. The fan provided did a good job at helping to keep the room cool at night , the balcony was spacious and also quite private. The pool and gardens were maintained to a high level. Arriving on a Sunday afternoon the place was packed with locals enjoying the facilities, however we were very pleased to discover on Monday morning that they had only been day visitors and subsequently the rest of our stay was very peaceful.

Rooms are nice, good size. Pool and surrounding area very nice. Food very good but not what I'd call "holiday" food - they didn't do snacks at lunchtime, it was all large, quite expensive main courses. No tapas. Miles from anywhere, and the one taxi we did get was very rude and said something we heard several times we were there "you English". It's very geared up for local Spanish people to come in the afternoons with their kids to use the pool etc. We very much felt we were an inconvenience. In the mornings they watered the grass area round the pool until about 11 so the sunbeds were getting soaked and large areas of the grass and most of the sunbeds couldn't be used while the sprinklers were on. They even mowed the grass around the pool at about 10am and made us move off our sunbeds so they could do it. Everything was set up for the arrival of the locals in the afternoon. Room wasn't ready when we arrived and we had to wait a couple of hours. Requested a 20 euro deposit for the use of a kettle - never heard of that before! No air con, although there was a fan in the room and a ceiling fan. Overall felt that there was a general expectation of "The English" all being louts and we were treated accordingly. Some of the staff were pleasant, but some were quite rude. Service was slow. Overall very disappointing.

Basic clean hotel
Just had a week at Hotel Sol Romantica, the facilities are basic and dated but very clean. Parts of the hotel have been upgraded and are much better rooms. The food is not bad the the price. Hotel staff all speak very good English as well as other languages. Lovely quiet location but no evening entertainment and fairly remote so a Car is the best way to get around.

Good Hotel in quite location - need a car!
This hotel is a small but excellent base for a week or two, as with some reviews we read it is a little dated but everywhere is kept clean and the restaurant food is excellent. Only slight issue was the noise from the larger resort next door some nights. Also note that this place is very popular with locals who on the weekend enjoy the restaurant and pool aera so it gets busy, .

Too far away from anything!
Booked this hotel by accident and was hoping it would be ok. There are no restaurants or bars local to the hotel which meant a trip into Porto Cristo or eat at the hotel. Taking trips was a little difficult to do by yourselves although there is a bus stop outside and a tourist train goes into Porto Cristo once an hour. Book a car......my biggest top!

Lovely quiet venue
A week base for climbing and road biking. Perfect quiet location, apartment had everything we needed. lovely balcony with sea view. We used the Hotel bar - nice helpful staff - relaxing place to have a pre dinner drink and use wifi.

Lovely family run hotel
Ideal for a mini break. Very helpful staff, little supermarket close by. Local 'tourist' train stops right outside the hotel - costs Euros4.50 pp for a round trip. Only 10 to 15 min walk to local beach but the walk back is all up hill!

The hotel was clean. We did not spend much time at the hotel. We were visiting friends that live nearby. It is good to have a car if you want to travel around the island. The hotel has a pleasant appearance. We did not eat at the restaurant there. We did not use the pool either. There are several beaches not far away, but a long walk. There are also some restaurants not far away, but also a long walk. It does not have much in the way of kitchen supplies. No coffee pot.

in the middle of nowhere
The apartments are in a residential area which is very quiet and peaceful. This is great unless you need to buy some supplies. The nearest shop (and beach) is about a mile away down a very steep hill. Walking up a very steep hill with shopping bags in super hot sun is not a great deal of fun! You could however always buy a can of coke at the apartments for €2.20! The food at the apartments was fine, which is lucky as you have to go back down by the shop to find another restaurant. The cooker didn't work in our room, so we had to eat in the restaurant a lot. The towels get changed after 4 days and the sheets don't get changed and the room doesn't get cleaned. The staff are nice enough, if extremely slow to serve you. The pool was nice and as there were hardly any guests, it was always quite empty. So all in all, a fair place in a very quiet location, but there is absolutely nothing to do and you need to be pretty fit if you want to go out and buy essentials like water.

Something special!
My other half and I agonised for weeks about where to stay when we were planning our trip...we made the right choice! Jose, Carmen and Tony couldn't do enough for us, for a personal touch in a family run establishment you can't go wrong here. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach (down hill) and local amenities. Boat trips to Porto Christo etc are easily arranged. We found the local bus service reliable and cheap and the food and choice of local wine was brilliant. A wonderful quiet and Romantica week! Value for money...this was exceptional. We will be back.

Had a short stay here and loved it. The staff were really lovely, very helpful and friendly. The pool is amazing. New and clean bathroom. This hotel is definitely worth a visit, great value for money.

Last minute booking
Lovely hotel, lovely people, bit a bit of a steep hill down to the shops and beaches but there is a bus service and "train". We found it worthwhile to get a cab from the airport, the transfer bus takes about an hour to get there but nearly 4 hours to get back as it goes around all the other hotels on the way, not the best way to spend your last day on the island. Hardly anyone speaks English so a French/German/Spanish phrase book would be handy, but that adds to the enjoyment.

This is an ideal family holiday with lovely walks and great beach within walking distance.. Not for anybody who's looking for a bit of night life but a great quite holiday.. Quiet resort out of season
Stayed the first week of November, the whole area was deserted. But we had lovely weather and nice walks around the area. Roads were nice and quiet, beaches were deserted but extremely nice.

Clean hotel in quiet location
A good location for a quiet break. The Studio Apartment was clean an functional, but the electrical appliances needed upgrading. Although this location is served by local buses and a tourist 'road train' a car is essential to visit the attractions of Mallorca. A bonus for this location was free off road parking. We used the onsite restaurant for dinner a couple of times, which had a varied menu and food of a high standard.

Definitely recommend for a cheap and easy holiday!
The staff are incredibly helpful, and most speak or at can communicate in English. When we went (end of September), it was very quiet, and the resort was less than 1/3 occupied. The pool and pool area were very clean, and was hardly ever used! There is also a kids area in the pool. The room was clean and very nice. It wasn't the most luxurious of rooms (it didn't have a/c or a safe) but we hardly spent time in it! If going during the peak of summer, I can imagine the rooms get quite hot, but opening the doors after sunset creates a good draft and clears the air quickly. There is a ceiling fan with adjustable speed in the room. Kitchen equipped with basics, but suited us just well. Not going to sugar coat it, there isn't much in the area. At all. There's the beach, and the mini supermarket. Everything else needs a taxi or if you're renting a car, you'll need to use that. Walk to the beach is max 10 max. It's a small beach with umbrellas and loungers for rent at 4Euros each/day.

A pleasantly chilled relaxing stay
The apartments were situated in pleasant and relaxing surroundings. The pool area was well built and maintained, the surrounding pool facilities included standing showers and a grassy area complete with sun loungers and bamboo umbrellas. There were games areas which offered pool, table tennis and a children's play area. There is a bus stop just outside of the premises which is served by the local bus network, there is also a unique tourist bus service called the mini-train ting-ting. This is a highly recommended experience as its open carriage, visits the largest nearest town and circles the area at hourly intervals. The manager Carmen was extremely pleasant and helpful. She arranged all our transfers and excursions. The most recommended is the 4x4 excursion into the mountainous region, with the added option to drive if you desire! Compliments to the chef and the staff! Not only was the food fantastic and cost effective, the staff made the whole experience a real delight.

Good Local Beach
The hotel is situated in Cala Romantica, a small lovely beach which doesn't feel touristy. It's a 10 minute walk down to the beach and probably a 15 minute walk (uphill) back from the beach. The hotel staff were nice and the pool nice. It's in a quiet part of the island. If you want to explore more than just Cala Romantica a car is pretty much essential.

If your 30+ or just want to sit and be bored
This is a nice hotel if you just want to relax and be away from shops, restaurants ect. It's an hour or so away from the Palma nova, where everything is. If you dont hire a car your doomed!!!! Taxi cost about 80erous one way to Palma nova. Expensive!!! It's mainly for couples 30+ no younger, as you will get bored of all the old faces. But like I said if you just want to relax, no shopping, sight seeing etc. then this is the place for you. I wouldn't go there again only because it was to far from the night life and good shops and restaurants.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. The s.c. appartment was spacious and clean, supplied with loo roll, towels, t towels and all the usual stuff. The pool is lovely and the food in the restaurant was of good quality, plentiful and reasonably priced. The downside is that it is a good kilometre to the beach(not 400m) down some steep hills with miniscule pavements. Walking back in 37 deg was a nightmare.There is a free 7 seater minibus every 15 mins- its hard to get a seat on though . There is nothing at all to do in the evenings, you need to go into Porto Christo for nightlife and for all shopping( 3km away). There is a massive resort over the road and the noise can be very loud at night. Tell romanticas staff and they get them to turn it down. lovely but isolated ,best with a car. Arrange your own transport from the airport too.

sehr gute Lage ruhig ideal für Erholung etwas renovierungsbedürftig aber für spanische Verhältnisse sehr zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit nur beim Essen brauch man Geduld es ist gut aber es dauert durch das wenige Personal sehr lange. Es gibt Tennis (alt der gut) Billard Tischtennis einen Superpool (sehr guter Zustand) und auch Billard. Es sind 5min zum Strand welcher Super ist

Nous avons séjourné en famille (2 adultes et 3 enfants). Nous avons séjourné dans un appartement qui faisait plus de 100 m2 c'était très spacieux, avec 2 salle des bains donc super en famille... le confort est simple mais on a manqué de rien, le personnel est très gentil et attentif. la piscine superbe, tout était très calme...on s'est régalés et on a meme regretté notre petit hôtel tranquille lorsque nous sommes partis plus vers majorque dans un plus gros complexe...ca n'avait pas le meme charme...Ici on entend pas les voisins bruyants...

El apartamento está bastante bien, las habitaciones son amplias, la cocina algo pequeña pero con bastantes utensilios de menaje para poder cocinar tranquilamente. Cerca de unas calas maravillosas.

Schönes kleines ruhiges Hotel
Uns hat es hier gut gefallen. Wir hatten ein Mietauto und waren somit sehr flexibel. Essen konnte man im zugehörigen Restaurant sehr gut. Personal war immer nett und freundlich. Zimmer war sauber und Matratze war recht neu. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen, wenn man sich selber verpflegen möchte.

Отдых релакс.
Отель находится в тихом удаленном месте, номер-студия номер 12 с большой террасой имеет вид на сторону теннисного корта и немного моря. Утром просыпаешься под пение птиц. Тихо как в деревне. По выходным в соседнем отеле развлекательная программа, она хорошо слышна и тоже нас отчасти развлекала)). В номере есть все необходимое, кроме чайника и фена. Чайник брали с собой, без фена обошлись. Есть два вентилятора потолочный и напольный. Было бы великолепно с кондиционером, но ничего, приспособились. Отель рекомендую тем, кому нужен релакс и спокойствие. Молодёжи там скучно по вечерам. Нам было вполне хорошо. Вай фай только возле ресепшн и слабоватый. Обязательно надо иметь машину, чтоб ездить на пляжи, так как они далеко расположены, идти по жаре утомительно. Также машину надо иметь, чтоб выезжать из этого места для прогулок по Майорке. В целом отдых в этом отеле рекомендую для пар возраста после 45 без детей.

Superbe hôtel familial idéalement situé au calme et à deux pas de la Cala Romantica et Cala Mendia. L’arret de bus juste à la sortie de l’hôtel. Personnel super sympa et serviable.Petit déjeuner basique mais suffisant(Possibilité en payant d'avoir un petit déj anglais)Au niveau confort de la chambre petite cuisine dotée de deux plaques électrique et du matériel pour cuisiner,frigo.Matelas un peu mou,donc mal au dos. L’hôtel propose un superbe carte avec plats locaux et des succulentes pizzas ainsi que la possibilité de manger végétarien.Bref une belle découverte car bien déservie par les bus ainsi qu'à pieds,vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés

hôtel situé au calme, loin du tumulte de Palma. Pas de béton mais de jolis paysages Appartements vastes et bien équipés. pas de clim, mais des ventilateurs. c'est suffisant. Terrasse. La piscine est très agréable et il y a suffisamment de chaises longues. le wifi ne fonctionne pas très bien et que autour de l'accueil Restaurant de l'hôtel très bien. Bon et pas très cher. le personnel parle français Seul bémol, la piscine de l'hôtel est ouverte à d'autres personnes et des anniversaires y sont organisés. C'est donc très calme le matin et devient très bruyant à partir de 11h. Dommage. Directement en face de l'hôtel, le club Marmara qui est bruyant le soir . Mais ca reste raisonnable Hotel a pas plus de 1h des différents sites à visiter sur l'ile. grottes du drach très proches à porto Christo. Palma est une ville très agréable et magnifique
