Great rooftop pool and terras Snacks were great, not too expensive. Location perfect for party, close but just far enough to not be bothered by the noise or drunk people! Small harbour close by for nice dinners! I recommand everyone to stay at this hotel! Thanks Emma, Evelien, Jessica and all the others! Keep up the level of excellence! "Great hotel, poor food"
lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms and great spa/squash courts/pool. Staff were extremely good. Only two niggles were the beds are too short, anyone over 6ft will find their feet dangling over the end which isn't particularly comfortable, and the food / restaurants are sub standard both by the hotels standards and the rest of Malta. Would recommend getting out of the hotel to some great local places nearby, you'll have better food for half the price.

Great hotel in an ideal location for visiting Malta. Close walk to main ferry and tours and Valletta and St Julians weren't far at all. Hotel staff were all very nice and breakfast was superb.

"good base location for exploring Malta"
Just back from a weeks stay here, and find it very hard to fault the hotel. The hotel is clean throughout and all the staff are friendly and more than happy to help. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with a balcony - the room was massive, with two double beds; the beds are comfortable, air con was good and tea and coffee making facilities - 2 teas, 2 coffees, replenished on a morning. There is a mini bar fridge, but this is empty unless you request it to be filled, meaning there is plenty of space to store soft drinks in your room. Plenty of wardrobe space, a safe and large bathroom, with a retractable line for hanging wet towels etc on to dry. The decor was pretty modern and stylish. The balcony didn't have a great outlook, but was nice to have an option to sit outside for a couple of minutes. Always plenty of choice for breakfast, even when getting there close to the end of service. Roof top pool nice. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from Peaceville - this is a lively night time spot with plenty of bars and night clubs close by - you don't hear a thing in the hotel. Head in the other direction, and you can walk for miles along the promenade - plenty of restaurants and bars along here as you pass through Sliema and beyond - we turned around after walking for around 4 hours. Bus stops are also located near by for easy access for getting wherever you want to go. We arranged airport transfers through the hotel also, and these where on time and high quality cars.

"The Hotel Spilola"
The hotel staff were polite and very professional at all times. They were very helpful in offering advise and assistance on shopping and travel advice. We chose this hotel on the reviews stating that this hotel had been refurbished. We were not disappointed with the quality of the refurbishment. Although it is in a popular area for holidaymakers the location is very quite. The room we stayed in was free from noise from the other occupants which was a big plus for us.

"Hotel with a view ."
Well positioned hotel with wonderful views over part of Valletta harbour.10 minute (uphill !) into Valletta ,but Hotel runs free taxi service at 10.00 in morning-would be nice if they could offer this at other times in day . Excellent breakfasts ,but buffet meal lack imagination and not cheap and more fun to eat in town. On whole we much enjoyed our stay.

    Pocket Guide: Malta

There is such a wide variety of hotels in Malta that it’s hard to know where to start. Whether you’re longing for luxury in 5-star hotels, craving comfort in 4-star hotels, or banking on a bargain in boutique hotels, you won’t be disappointed. Malta hotels are ready to welcome you with open arms! Located at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, Malta has a long history of changing rule, from the Greeks and Romans through to the French and British. The British influence is still strong and English is one of the two official languages. But one of the most fascinating periods in its history came during the Middle Ages with the Knights of St John, Christian crusaders who had fled from the Holy Land. The story of their courageous defeat of Ottoman invaders at the Great Siege of Malta is told in frescoes in the Grand Master’s Palace in the capital Valletta, while reenactments of military drills still take place in Fort St Elmo.

One of the newest attractions on this ancient island is Bay Street, a huge shopping and entertainment complex opened in 2000 and strikingly designed by the British firm behind London’s Millennium Dome. Located in the heart of one of the island’s most popular tourist destinations, St George’s Bay, the centre is open seven days a week and has a rolling programme of special events for all the family. Shopaholics beware – all the major brands are here! After a full day of retail therapy you’ll be glad to kick off your shoes in one of the nearby luxury hotels and give your plastic a well-earned rest.

Malta is also a great destination for cultural breaks. The lavishly decorated rococo Manoel Theatre is home to the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, which regularly performs with world-famous soloists such as Joseph Calleja, Andrea Bocelli and José Carreras. It also offers a full programme of opera and theatrical productions, some performed in English, as well as an annual Christmas pantomime. Book into one of Valletta’s romantic hotels to enjoy a concert or play in the third-oldest working theatre in Europe, view masterpieces by the celebrated Calabrese artist Mattia Preti in the National Museum of Fine Arts, and admire famous paintings by Caravaggio in the oratory of St John’s Co-Cathedral, before heading into town for a hearty dish of tender stewed rabbit, Malta’s national dish or fish landed fresh from the harbour.
