“Not impressed”
The hotel was OK but not great. Upon our arrival, the hostess at the reception was highly unpleasant. When we got to our room, there were not enough towels for everyone. The room was reasonably well equipped, but anything else came with a charge (for example: internet available only in the hall of the hotel at a charge of Eur 2.50 per hour). While the stove and bathroom had been recently redone, the rest of the room, and the hotel in general was old and looking worn out. The swimming pool was over crowded.
“Sunny Coast Resort”
When we arrived, we had to wait approx. 30 mins for the room to be ready and available to us. The staff are very nice and helpful, the bar at the hotel has been closed since we got here and it has already been 4 days, there is only one member of staff at reception, the hotel is nice but very quiet at day and night times, if you're looking for a busy hotel with family, lively place (which is what i would've preferred), I would recommend go to Qawra Palace hotel which is much much bigger, louder and livelier.
“Excellent Family Accomodation”
We all enjoyed our stay, the view was spectacular and the staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We loved the pool and private beach area; pleanty of good restaurants within walking distance to hotel; rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. The only crticism i would have is that the air conditioners need to be upgaded.
“A very friendly hotel”
As above
“Very good resort situated at a great location for getting around.”
My family and I quite enjoyed staying at the Sunny Coast Resort. I must say we were a bit hesitant in staying there after reading some of the reviews of previous travellers. However, we found the resort very good. We had a sea view 1 bed apartment and it was fantastic. We had a great view of the ocean and the cleanliness of the apartment was of a high standard. The equipment in the apartment was very modern even down to the cuttlery. We were also pleasantly suprised to see they the hotel staff even went through the trouble to have a new washing up sponge and kitchen towel in the apartment when we checked in. Our bath towels, and bed sheets, pillow cases etc were changed every day wich again was very impressive. I would definitely recommend staying there. On a more negative note, the resort is being refurbished, so the gymnasium and indoor pool is not totally up to par. Similarly the refurbishment started from the top floor of the hotel working their way downwards and they had got to the fifth floor during our stay. We stayed on the 5th floor so we had the oppertunity to see and experience the refurbished apartments first hand. They are fantastic and when the entire refurbishment is completed the resort will be even more attractive. I give the Sunny Coast Resort 8 out of 10.
“4 stars? No even one”
The only thing this hotel had is friendly staff. This hotels does not merit 4 stars. Scarry beds, scarry bathrooms make this property a STAY AWAY hotel. Only thing that was OK was the staff. Although they can't change the physical attributes of this disgrace of a hotel, they were friendly, nice. We ended leaving to a five star hotel for the remaining nights of our stay even though it cost us and arm and a leg. Don't book the SunnyCoast if you want four stars. I guess it OK if you're happy with 1 1/2 star rating. Befare of the star rating system.
“A week in late October”
We had a two bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor with a good sea view. The apartment was a good size for us ... myself and my 13 year old son and two16 year old girls. Very comfortable with fairly new furnishings and the kitchen area was ideal for a weeks holiday although a microwave would have been useful ... the bathroom though passable was ready for a refit. I found the staff fairly unengaging - not unpleasant but not people that would go the extra mile. The pool and other facilities could do with freshening up. The pool was cool but OK once you got use to it ... the sea is a better bet for bathing and we did a couple of good sessions of snorkling.. There is a good area for sunbathing and my recommendation would be to use these facilities in the morning when that side of the peninsula gets the sun and then get out and about in the afternoon. I would place the hotel as a very good 3 star rather than a 4 star. The location is reasonably good. Near the coast and not far to walk to restaurants, bars and shops close to the bus station. Most evenings there was little noise around the hotel. On the final Friday they had a function which spilled out to the seating area at the front of the hotel and there was some noise late on. I suppose that comes with the territory of having a balcony leading off from the bedroom. It wasn't too much of a problem and happy to suffer this as a trade off for the great sea view when I woke up.
“Sunny Coast”
We stayed in rooms 404 and 405 which had magnificent views over the sea and had huge balconies with sun beds tables and chairs. Good location with many nice maltese restuarants nearby
