very good accomodation!

Posted 18-Nov-2014

Quite disappointing

Posted 04-Nov-2014
I was very disappointed with the whole service provided. When I entered the room there were 2 mugs filled with tea. There is a hidden charge when using the pool. You have to pay for the use of the towels. There is no parking space near the hotel or within the hotel.Room was not properly cleaned. Breakfast was good. Maintenance person was very helpful.

Be careful of downgrades

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Excellent food and spa services, but be careful of being downgraded in room selection once you have arrived. Many rooms have no balcony, no window or a window that opens directly onto street (safety?)

Hôtel proche de leurs clients

Posted 06-Oct-2014

Let down from Pergola Hotel

Posted 03-Oct-2014
My fiancé and I booked this hotel by choice for 5 nights. However, when we arrived at reception in Solana we were told that we had been moved to another hotel, Pergola hotel and spa, which was 'the same hotel' a few minutes away. This was due to maintenance work which would have made our room in an unsafe condition to stay in. So they called us a complimentary taxi to take us. I knew from my previous research that it was a different hotel but we thought maybe it would still meet our standards. And for this reason I will leave the same review for Solana because it is 'the same hotel'!! Welcome to Pergola...the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, and knew how to do her job. The room space at Pergola was very ample with a lounge and kitchen area as well as a separate bedroom. The twin beds had been put alongside each other to make a double (I specifically requested a double), and one of the beds had a dip and made a noise everytime you sat on it. Fine, we could make do. My fiancé came back to the room after a day out in Melleiha and I saw him stomping about in the corners of the room...trying to squash the ants which were also staying with us. I went into the kitchen at one point and a cockroach ran across the work surface. That was enough for us. I went to reception at Pergola to complain and a different receptionist was there. In short we were told that it is normal to have bugs at this time of the year and in this climate.

we stayed here at the start of sep the staff were very helpful and polite the location great, breakfast was good apart from the lack of tea cups we often had to wait . the room was comfortable for two but it has beds for four and the balcony could not take four . but only very minor issues all in all a very enjoyable stay

Clean and center location in Mellieha district

Posted 11-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was nice and clean. The breakfast was good with several choices of how to fill a belly. The basic things worked like a charm - no complains there. E.g. we got some breakfast packages with us when we left for early flight and the transportation was arranged without any obstacles. The hotel has many restaurants and we only tested the one that offers pizzas. The food wasn't that good but at least there was plenty of it. One bummer that we don't like that much with this kind of hotels is that you only get WiFi to your room, if you pay some extra charge and that is not from 2014. Even the cheap guest houses can offer this basic service. When possible, we always take our business to the ones with free wifi in the rooms. But overall, we were quite satisfied with this hotel.

Friendly and clean

Posted 30-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The best part of this hotel is undoubtedly the very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean although my mattress was slopy from heavy use. We had breakfast included in our stay and it is in dire need of an update. Tasteless and boring. Evening buffets are best avoided, same thing here; tasteless and boring. Our booking from Hotels.com stated "free hi-speed wifi" in our room. There was no such thing. First there was a cost to use internet in our room (yes this in 2014), secondly it never worked anyway. There is free wifi in the reception area, however because of the other restrictions people gather here making the connection unusable. We had better connection on the ferry to Gozo. I really have to say that this part was a big let-down for our whole stay. Without the ever so friendly staff I would not be so happy.

We had a very bad expirence.

Posted 20-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
We arrived around 11pm, and got shown to our rooms. Our booking was 2 rooms, we had called them 2 times before arrival with questions and both times we asked rooms to be next to each other or nearby. We end up with two rooms quite a walk from each other. same floor though. We also made a booking with deluxe studio rooms, where the description tells us with either garden or sea view. One of the rooms had a wall as view. (What a terrible balcony) and a broken AC. Next day we went to talk about what happened. And they would fix AC (soon) later the night we got back home, the fix they made was a transportable AC, so we could not lock the door, because there was tube that had to go outside. Not very comforting. Another day gone by and we got offered another room, even further away from the other room. The new room had a balcony to the road (Dont ever get that, what a noise!!) The entire holiday have been quite annoying because of so many problems. NOT RECOMMENDED.
