Overall our stay at Solana was great!

Posted 16-May-2015
Overall, our stay at Solana was great. The hotel was as described, the staff was phenomenal, and the location for us was great. We actually stayed for one night through Expedia then another two weeks with our travel exchange club. The hotel staff made the transition so easy for us, helped us book all of our excursions and we had two great days in the spa. The hotel is older, but well maintained for sure. Last but never least, right on the bus line and super easy to get to the south part of the island for 1.50 euro for an all day ticket!

great last minute booking

Posted 08-Apr-2015
Pros: The comfortable beds, food and staff.
Cons: Better double glazing at front of hotel to sound proof the noise from the road.
Location: Not a very good area for parking but excellent bus route. Visit the church and world war 2 war shelters, both within walking distance.
Lovely hotel exactly where we thought it would be. Friendly staff, good food and very comfortable beds. Only negative is the noise from the main road if you stay at the front of the hotel.

Nice Hotel, great facilities.

Posted 05-Apr-2015
Really lovely hotel. Rooftop pool, indoor pool, spa facilities, bar & 3 restaurants. Apart from the lady who checked us in and whoever she was speaking to on the phone (who rolled her eyes when we asked if there was a possibility we could be moved to a room off the main road as it was a bit noisy) all staff were polite and helpful. Room itself was spacious with a balcony, mini kitchen, bath and shower. Bus stop right opposite the hotel takes you to the Gozo ferries (through Melleiha Bay) and the bus stop on the same side takes you to Valletta/Sliema/Airport etc... €1.50 for a day ticket - bargain! Would recommend three restaurants nearby: 'Bouquet Garni' (fresh fish/meat and desserts to die for), 'ta Randi' (big portions, great value) and 'Master Wok' (excellent chinese food).

Don't book day prior to public holiday

Posted 21-Mar-2015
We booked the day prior to a public holiday. Apparently this created chaos for the staff and we had to pay another rate prior to getting our room key. This then created knock on chaos and confusion when we went for breakfast the following morning. Very rude and arrogant breakfast manager. Woken up at 0630 with staff moving furniture in the next room. Furniture on tiles sounded like finger nails on a blackboard through a loudspeaker at 0630... not something you look for on your short holidays. Echoing rooms and corridors...not a design that is conducive to getting a lie in.

Ottimo albergo e gentilezza del personale

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Pros: Tutto
Cons: secondo me adottare moderni materassi in lattice anziché a rete
Location: Situato in centro con fermata bus davanti all'albergo
Vacanza prenotata tramite Expedia. Molto soddisfatto.

Nice hotel. Would stay again.

Posted 03-Mar-2015
Pros: Spacious, rooms. High standard of cleanliness. Good food.
Location: On the main street. Lots of shops and eateries nearby. Bus stop opposite.
We were made to feel welcome. Rooms large and comfortable but a bit cold. (Although the weather was a lot worse than normal!) Food was of a good quality and varied enough for a week's stay. The hotel is centrally located with other places nearby to eat at if wanted. Also very handy for the excellent public transport on the island.

Clean and pleasant hotel

Posted 20-Feb-2015
The staff could not have been more helpful, reception, restaurant and housekeeping went out of their way to make us feel important. The rooms were clean with new towels every day. Rooms on the front could be a little noisy.

Bonne adresse

Posted 10-Feb-2015

Cold room

Nice big room, but it is cold. The air-conditioner heater does not work so well. It is also noisy when you keep it on.

Excellent value for your Money

Really lovely stay at this hotel with my husband. For the price we paid, we got so much more then expected. Staff very friendly, spotless clean hotel & lovely swimming area. Breakfast buffet was nice, we never had lunch or dinner in the hotel because we were out & about.
