“Lovely hotel”
My friend and I went there for a weekend break. The hotel itself was lovely, very nice lounge area, loads of seating, pools and beach were great too. The food was really good, a great variety. You'd have to be really fussy to not find something you liked. I wouldn't go to Malta expecting scenery though. The view from our ground floor room was of something that resembled a shanti town! Inititally we had another room but the toilet was broken and unfortunately we had to move only a couple of hours after unpacking. We did receive an apology though I feel more could have been offered to us to compensate! I would recommend this hotel for a weekend but no longer unless you hire a car.
“Good, but could be better”
This hotel has the potential to be amazing, but things just felt lacking. The room was very nice, but building works outside meant that it was very dusty. This is likely to be temporary though. The food - available in huge quantities - was good but not great. The pools were very nice. The layout of the hotel was a bit confusing, it felt like it needed a map.
“A rather mixed bag!”
I paid extra to have a sea view, but I think there was a further upgrade, which perhaps was worth getting. My view from the balcony was of a car park, beyond which was wasteland with more cars parked and a little to the left was sea. More like a side sea view. Very close was an electricity generator which was noisy and in my view a health hazard too, due to magnetic effects of high voltage currents. I complained and they said I would need to come to reception in the morning. No luck in the morning they could only offer more of the same. The next day after some further argument they moved us to a room 100 times better with a lovely sea view and sunset in the evening. The room and bathroom were much larger and this was clearly an upgrade. Not unpacking for 2 days did take the shine off the holiday a bit as well as tolerating noisy air conditioning, again better in the second room. Food at first seemed very mediocre - dried up chicken drumsticks with bones broken all over the place. After a few days this improved dramatically and even reached excellence I would say. They were very accommodating for my son who has special needs and only eats certain fruit and veg. These were ordered and prepared specially for him. So for this it has to be an excellent score for the kitchen staff. They also let him have breakfast in the room when I couldn't get him up. So very kind and accommodating in the restaurant.
“Ramla Bay Hotel is just fine ....”
Just returned from four nights away, 17th – 21st July. We have three young children, Ramla bay hotel at bit of a mixed bag really. Food is good, so much selection on the menu, there is always something for everyone, plenty of fish and meat plenty of salad a good choice for the kids. Overall layout and views of the hotel are good, room service and cleanliness very good, good free Wi-Fi in the lobby and some rooms, you can take you pc and use it in the lobby.Outside seating is a no-no unless you like inhaling smoke, all outside pools are salt water, we waited 50 minutes to eat simple snacks at the pool bar, again complaining is fruitless as your asked to sign the bill before food arrives. The hour long swim gym session overtakes everything with loud euro pop and a hotel employees shouting at a microphone. It not a bad place, a clean room and good food in a nice location, but could easily be improved upon.
“A Stress free time in Malta”
Well what can I say. I absolutely LOVED my stay with my girlfriend here at the Ramla Bay Resort two weeks ago. Yes the issue is that the hotel is abit of a way out in the outskirts of the island, but all you need to do is hop on a 45 bus (the stop is about 5 minutes walk) and you can get into the nearest town of mellieha in about 10 minutes, where there is an absoultely beautiful beach, as well as a few small restaurants and gift shops. It takes around an hour to get into Valetta on the same bus. As for the hotel itself, it was nothing short of pure relaxation. We went in May, so it wasn't the busy period. It seemed that most of the guests were older couples, so hardly any kids around. Every room gets a balcony, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. The buffet breakfast was quite nice, and the buffet dinner is even better with a wide range of delicious foods to choose from. The hotel design is very modern, and very spacious. The hotel beach is small, but on a hot day, its the perfect place to chill out with a drink and relax. I loved it so much here I'm considering going back this year already! For the price, this hotel was a BARGAIN, the most relaxed environment I could need, great for those who maybe a little stressed at work, and need some time to chill.
“Ramla Bay Resort”
We couldn't fault the hotel or the service. The location is quite isolated, so don't go there for anything but peace and quiet.
“Awesome Hotel with great views”
great resort,excellent food,friendly & helpfull staff.Average entertainment
“Very good”
Very nice resort – couldn’t fault anything. Good food, nice staff and good facilities.
“nice hotel but too far from civilization!”
Hotel, pools, service and surroundings very good, but unless you chose all inclusive, there was not any food available in the evenings and the price for their buffet was outrageous for the quality of food they served, otherwise their limit for a la carte menu (which was just taken from the buffet), was too much. Many complaints in this regard from others, too. Although there was a bus available covering the island, it was an hour's drive from Valetta and the last bus was in the early evening. Otherwise, a 30 euro taxi to almost anywhere. For just relaxing, it was lovely, but to see Malta, not a good choice.
“Would definitely go back, ideal relaxing holiday destination”
Good hotel, very clean and good service. Hotel restaurant average but at least 4 different good options for dining within the small bay, Alang Alang within hotel particularly good. Great location if you are looking for a quiet, hide-away relaxing holiday; only 2 hotels in the area and small bar which serves excellent food. Regular bus to Valletta and ferry service to Gozo within a 15min walk - very reasonable. Hotel has lovely outlook onto Gozo and Comino.

Area:
Mellieha, Malta: Mellieha Bay boasts the largest sandy beach in Malta, with a golden arc of gently shelving sand providing family-friendly bathing. All the usual water sports are on offer here, and there are further beaches close by. Set high on a hill above is the traditional old town, largely unaffected by the bustle below and with a very fine church. In summer the beaches are crowded and on weekends long traffic jams occur.
