“EXCELLENT 3 star hotel. Will return one day.”
Reception was very helpful. Our Sea view room was very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely go there again next time I go to Malta, which I am looking forward to one day. Breakfast was very good, but dinner was ok. There are many great resturants nearby and by the water which are better for dinner. Bus stop at front door, and Sliema is a great central location to stay in Malta.
“San Julian”
Transportation is not good (coz of overloaded). Natural view is perfect. Gozo island is a better choice for anyone who favors nature.
“Ideally located”
Arrived late and our room was not a superior room with a sea view as per our booking. Our room was on the first floor with a high level of road noise and we had a TREE view instead a sea view. This was reported to the night porter and we were moved the following morning to the 5th floor with a great panoramic view. The Hotel in general was 1st class and the breakfast provided was particularly brilliant.
“A budget hotel with a very reasonable price close to all amenities.”
At this price we are more than satisfied. Hotel is facing the sea. Rocky beach and only a very very small area with sand just below thw hotel but found ideal by families with small kids. Also facing a public garden with playing area swings, sea saw, slide etc. Hotel is fine, we had a family room, seventh floor with a great view. But all is served with lift. Only that you have to change lifts to go for breakfast etc. Food was OK, ample and buffet. Staff was also helpful espescially this person I think the owner or manager. The only thing which may bother some persons is that sometimes it is very noisy and crowded which regards the dining area. I noted many elderly people both local and foreigners. At times there are some people who don't know what manners are. It depends what kind of people you find when you are over. There is also an indoor pool we liked a lot. The reception although small but aduquate enough to make a warm welcome and can pass evenings there if you wish. There is a cafeteria and a restaurant both owned by te hotel. What else can I say, it all depends on a person's expectations but obviously one has to consider what was paid. I can say that overall I was very satisfied and would recommend staying here. I hope they keep it up and keep smiling, owner and all.
“Just a good all round hotel in a good location”
A pleasant hotel with good service and entertainment (possibly for the older end!) A nice restaurant, good views across the bay and a short walk from all that is needed for a holiday. Good leisure facilities and friendly staff.
“Great location”
A really nice hotel,we stayed on the 5th floor but no noise from the dining room above.Great location with lovely prom and plenty of places to eat and drink. So handy for buses into valletta and rest of isle. Hotel staff very friendly and both eating places on ground floor very good food. Breakfast in the Hotel also excellant. would definately go here again and would recomend to others.
“Generally Happy”
Our trip to Malta followed a tour of Egypt, we decided to go as my wife is of Maltese decent but had not travelled there for many years, Malta was relatively close to Egypt so we decided to go. We chose to hotel through a brochure and booked through Expedia. The Hotel has a grear location on Tower street Sliema, close to the Boulivade and close to many restaurants. We found the Staff were helpful, the room was clean and spacious, there was a daily cleaning service. Our room didn't have a great view (a wall) but that was ok as we were mostly in there at night. The main negatives were the kitchinette in our room was small with limited space for storage of food items, there was no dish washing detergent, and no sponge or cloth for washing dishes I think these could be provided for minimal expense, the bed consisted of two singles pushed together they were not particularly comfortable. The hotel had an internet cafe and WiFi access (available for a fee) I found the WiFi access difficult for most of the time with connection problems due to weak signal, the system was down altogether for two days then seemed to improve after that. The other niggling annoyance was the door stop which was located poorly so that the door could not be opened to its full extent making it awkward entering and leaving especially with bags. Malta was really terrific as would recommend it as a destination, great food, good climate, safe, relatively inexpensive, lots to see and do.
“Short business stay”
After making the reservation, I saw some frightening reviews on-line. It turns out the hotel has two parts, of which the old one is is in a bad need of refurbishment. The hotel also shifts between the names of Plaza Regency Hotel and Plaza Hotels and suites - tricky. I was ready to cancel and go somewhere else if things where not up to scratch on arrival, but my stay in the new part was absolutely satisfactory on all counts. Central location, wonderful view over the ocean and harbour. A bit of traffic down below, but what can you expect when you're right on the Islands waterfront. For all of that, the price seems unbeatable.
