“Check the bill”

We took 1.5 hours to drive 13km to this hotel. Beware, there are very few signs heading away from the airport and Malta is tricky to navigate due to the water and one way systems. When we finally arrived at the hotel and was told that the hotel car park was leased out and we would need to park in the sister hotel carpark further up the road or on the road.

“Very relaxing stay”

“Great Location”

Had a glorious balcony view overlooking St George's bay. We ate regularly at Henry J Beans & The Marina restaurants (both located within the Corinthia complex). Both restaurants offer outdoor seating with sea views. Thoroughly enjoyable - would go again.

“Great value for Money!”

I have just spent a very relaxing week at this hotel. It is part of the Corinthia Beach Resort, so you have the run of the overall property. It is right on the water and the swimming was great! My room was very spacious, the bed comfortable, and it was kept very clean. The breakfast was very nice and the staff friendly and very helpful. The hotel was well located to St Julians and Paceville, and although you definitely knew you were in Malta's part central it was not intrusive. The complex had a very good choice of restaurants and they were very good value so a great excuse to eat in the hotel, although there are some nice places within walking distance. I really enjoyed my time here and my holiday in Malta, and would definitely come back.

“June 2011”

Great location, poor AC in room, closer to a three star, Good food will cost Good money. Staff were nice and very helpfull with whatever you need.

Area recommendations

Paceville is a great party town. Valletta is nice for shopping and site seeing. Blue Grotto is worth the trip, the blue lagoon; not so much. high speed ferry to Sicily tour is nice but a very long rushed day.

“Not a bad hotel for a less than perfect destination.”

Firstly St.George's Bay is pretty grotty and certainly the area of St Julian's known as Paceville is rather grimey. Fortunately the hotel is an oasis with its own restaurants - the best being The Grill (superb) and Henry J Bean's who's happy hours are a life saver. We were annoyed to find that the closest pools were being refurbished and we hadn't been told. Secondly when they tried to fit a third bed in our tiny room it was a joke. The manager moved us to a larger room with sea view which was appreciated. The weather at Easter is mixed and to be honest so was the holiday - not a lot to do and wouldn't go there again.

Area recommendations

Stick to the hotel. Take a trip to Valetta by all means but don't worry if you can't.

“A great location in Malta”

This hotel is right on the water and our room had a beautiful view of the bay. The St. Juliens area is quite modern and upscale, as well as THE area for the young and restless to hang out at the shopping malls and other attractions targeted at young tourists and locals. Breakfast was quite good and my wife raved for the delicious pastizzies (puff pastry filled with ricotta or a pea paste). The hotel staff were very helpful and overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Marina Hotel. Minor irritants at the hotel included a 12 Euro charge for the key to the safe in our room as well as a wireless charge of 1 Euro per hour.

“Lovely Resort”

Would certainly stay here again if we returned to Malta. Very comfortable bed, we didn't pay the extra for a water view, but still had a balcony which was nice. Tried most of the restaurants on offer at the hotel, all very good & reasonably priced quite a range to choose from. Sitting on the balconys of the restaurants watching the sun set of an evening was gorgeous. Excellent breakfast included in deal well worth it.

Getting around

Local buses are easy, though old!!! just check with front desk the surrounding area numbered bus. The hotel also gave me a print out of the other bus routes which will take you all around the Island, very cheaply.

What you see on the website and what you get are 2 different things. For the price all you get is a good location.
