“Old School”
The Imperial hotel is a wonderful building left over from the British colonial times. While the building itself at first appears a little shabby it is staffed by friendly and helpful people. The rooms are kept clean and comfortable and if you are not worried about staying right on the sea front (which I find to be over rated at the best of times anyway) I would certainly recommend the Imperial.
“Old but good”
An old hotel situated close to the sea and all of the amenities of Sliema Malta's best holiday resort. Breakfast fare was a bit limited but that apart I was very satisfied with the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Recommended especially for the more mature holiday maker.
“Internet site description is better than reality”
It was general sens that the hotel is under reorganization.
“Great old style hotel.”
A well established hotel ideally situated in the heart of Sliema close to shops, restaurants and the sea. More suited to the more mature guest than the young. The standard of food and the quality of service very satisfactory.Louis
“GREAT VALUE”
Great Hotel very clean, well cared for, secluded pool well kept very clean. rooms well serviced daily, ideal location to reach all the Sleima seafront areas, bus outside to connect with Valletta and all the bus conections for the rest of Malta, Good Value, plenty of lounge area to relax, no hesitation in using hotel again.
“NOT MALTA AT ITS BEST.”

“Graceful old hotel with lovely garden and pool”
Hotel is situated uphill and a ten minute walk down to seafront, but area is attractive with the well maintained old buildings around. For a three star it is good value especially with the very pretty garden and pool area hidden away from when you first go on. Our room was noisy as it looked over the street and a busy bus route. A buffet breakfast was supplied with the room - not bad, fairly basic, nothing fancy, instant coffee (bacon on Sundays!) but for the price it was OK.Staff helpful though restaurant staff needs to be more aware of customers' needs - an issue to get water to drink.
“A winner”
Would not hesitate to return to the Imperial - a great setting and touch of class. The shining marble floors and curving staircase make a great first impression, staff are friendly and helpful, everywhere is very clean. High ceilinged room was comfortable, but could be improved with an upgrade of shower facilities. Although on bed and breakfast. we ate in on a few nights and found the food value for money. Very useful bus stop adjacent to the hotel - offsets the incline in the road returning to the hotel if unfit.
“Old Imperial”
Grumbles? The shower (over the bath) was made for shorter people and our balcony (extra cost) looked over some kitchens, a wire walkway and various roofs. The dining room was dark and Victorian, breakfast would have been so much nicer on the outside tables. We ate in once, after a long day as we did not want to slog up the hill again. The food was OK, canteen/school type of meal. Best bits? Our room was spacious and clean with instant hot water in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good (and included).
“Much better than expected.”
I chose this hotel because of its location and price, but to be honest was not sure what to expect. Well I need not have been disappointed, I was well looked after, the staff were delightful and the rather maligned breakfast was actually not bad at all: scrambled eggs every morning, choice of cereals, coffee, tea, toast, cold meats and cheese ...... what more do people expect. I can tell you one thing for certyain - I'll be back.
