Hotel is a mix of old and new. Patrons will need a couple of days to get used to the layout since signs are a bit sparse. Rooms on the top floors with the sea view are spacious and bathrooms are complete with a bath and shower. Breakfast was good and can get quite busy. In all stay was enjoyable.

The very nice view over the harbor was a plus. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice.

Room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed but public areas were a bit tired. Had breakfast one morning which was very average, not nearly as good as it was when we last stayed here several years ago. Hotel was quiet at night but there was building work in progress (seems a permanent feature at the Grand!) which made it impossible to relax in the hotel during the day. Staff were helpful and polite but communication was an issue, not just with the guests but with each other, due to the mix of nationalities and poor English (the only common language). Despite the above we enjoyed our stay.

A Grand Time!
Hotel is conveniently located and we got it at a good price which was most important. If the prices climb I’d go for one of the top notch hotels on the island instead but if the price is reasonable I’ll return. Pool was nice with a great view just a bit chilly. Didn’t do spa or rooftop BBQ so can’t comment on those. Breakfast had all your basics and was good. Gym was dismal and tiny, didn’t use it at all, definitely need an upgrade there and a gym of a decent size for such a large hotel. Wifi wasn’t the best, kept going in and out and it was a working vacation for me so that was annoying. Some rooms get all day food/cooking odors from the restaurant next door. Gozo isn’t totally ruined yet, but not what it used to be just a few years ago, sad to see. Internet “influencers” definitely ruining the travel industry with overexposure.

Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo
Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo. Hotel is a little bit dated and in need of a bit of modernisation here and there, but generally speaking happy with our stay for the price. Very well located with good transport links and lots of great restaurants a couple of mins walk away. Could do with a few more veggie options at breakfast e.g. Veggie sausages

Good location
The location of this hotel is spectacular, we had room 705 with balcony on the harbor. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean. The room in general was ok, but the lack of cleanliness and upkeep of the bathroom was surprising. I don't doubt this hotel must have been 'Grand' many decades ago, but now needs to be 'refreshed', or at least thoroughly cleaned. From the moldy shower curtain, faucets and tiles to the toilet flush that worked only when jiggled a certain way, to the filthy hallway carpeting...all things that could easily and quickly be fixed. I didn't expect that.

Very lovely hotel with beautiful views and good reasonable price paid for hotel including breakfast, however breakfast choice wasn’t huge and served the same breakfast everyday which got a bit boring. The cake wasn’t fresh as they had the same cake on display for several days which was not appealing at all. The room we had however was quite clean, spacious, good value for money and the views were so beautiful overlooking the sea and harbour. The staff were also very helpful in providing information on transport and excursions, welcoming and easy to talk to. In terms of cleanliness, overall quite clean however the toilet brush appeared dirty which wasn’t great to see and would have been nice to get clean towels at least every 2 days or so but would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We really like staying here, it’s a great hotel that’s clearly investing a lot it it’s facilities. The rooftop BBQ is a must!! The place is like a tardis, there is so much of it and you keep finding new corners. We’re looking forward to coming again!

Have multiple bookings for this hotel would definitely recommend staying the house keeping staff and bar staff receptionist are all first class few issues with the billing system but soon got it sorted will will change my review for the dates 13th to the 22nd September as that has been sorted

The staff from the house keeping to the bar staff are all excellent cannot fault them the billing system ie saying your room number and signing is impossible to keep a check on and never pay cash use cards so you can prove payments as I found out (280 euros down ) apart from that I would return because overall we enjoyed our stay

Our room was spacious with views over the harbour. Room service was brilliant and coffee/ tea was replenished daily. The hotel has 3 restaurants, but we only tried one which offered a BBQ night with rooftop views. We highly recommend this as the food was cooked to order and was delicious!😋 All staff were polite and helpful and we throughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a 10 day stay in July 23, we last came here 15 years ago. It was a lovely stay, the staff are pleasant and helpful, the rooms spotless and our house keeper was superb Room 506. We had a superior room with a terrace, you get the cheapest deals with a comparison site, but if you're looking for one of the really nice rooms in the new part of the hotel then book directly with the hotel " we will next time we go" they are gorgeous. Restaurant is good and breakfast was nice with a good choice, if you go at peak times expect a little wait. The swimming pool is nice, big enough for a decent swim and the sun bed area is good "there is some extension work going on at the moment but you don't notice it. Its a lovely view from the rooms and most quests enjoyed watching the ferries going back and forth to Malta. The area is very nice and there has been a number of restaurants' become established over the years, The Grand has a lovely Sky restaurant and roof top BBQ. All in all it was a great 10 days at the Grand, we will be back. Gozo itself is a Beautiful Island with lots of places to visit, the small towns/villages come alive in the evening. Sadly we spoilt our holiday by spending our final 7 days on Malta, "We should have stayed at the Grand and taken the passenger ferry over for days out, it costs just few Euros and takes you all the way to Valleta.

Excellent hotel at Mgarr Harbour
Excellent hotel at Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. Lovely view of Mgarr Harbour. Stunning view from rooms. Lovely large warm swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and shade. Good buffet breakfast. Nice bar area with seats outside. Spa and indoor pool although we did not use these. Easy walk to restaurants bars and cafes. Garage is a little difficult. WiFi sometimes a bit flaky. All in all a great hotel with good service. Cleaning of room and replacement of shampoos etc was very good. TV with some English channels.

I loved the location, the excellent standard of service from all staff, the large room, lovely large bathroom, and the breakfast - which is a must as it caters for a wide variety of tastes. The bed was very comfy, the TV was very large, and a balcony or terrace is a must so you can really take in the views of Mgarr Harbour. The shower water pressure and temperature were a bit unreliable, and the dust from further construction of the hotel affected me. It has a labyrinth of corridors and you need to use 2 lifts to get to some rooms, but at least there are lifts. There is no shuttle service, but they will arrange for a taxi to pick you up and fully escort you and your luggage across the channel and drop you outside the door - it is really well worth the extra cost! Overall, they really try to make your stay very comfortable and welcoming, including an old fashioned touch of class with soft music playing in the background during breakfast and waiters at the ready.

We loved everything about this property. From the front desk members, such as the always helpful Kimberly and her colleagues. The beautiful spacious & newly top floor renovated room overlooking the sea and harbour. The newly opened rooftop bar with wonderful cocktails & views. As you disembark from the ferry to Gozo, you simply walk up the hill to this historic place. Immediately, the Front Desk personnel provide you with bus schedules, special event information, and so many other tips!

Amazing views over harbour
Superb hotel with spectacular views over the harbour. Lovely relaxing on the balcony watching the ferries going to/from Malta. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good size room, bathroom and balcony. Comfy bed, excellent bathroom with superb shower. Great value for money, we’ll be back!

A relaxing weekend break
The bedroom is comfortable, spacious with a sitting area and a balcony for the country view. There aren't any charging points by the bed though! Perhaps some coat hangers by the door would be helpful too. Soap dispensers would be better than sachets and tiny bottles. The taps could be changed to modern ones. An orange drink as we check in is a nice touch! The receptionists are helpful and very friendly, in particular, Valerie. Breakfast is excellent: a good variety of food; tables are efficiently cleared and the staff attentive and friendly. The breakfast room could do with some cheerful colours and new curtains.The location is great with Mgarr harbour close by. A good hotel for weekend breaks.

Great place to stay good access to ferry. We would stay there again. Needs more charger/adapters for various phone types.

The breathtaking views from our room on the 8th floor never ceased to thrill. Our room was beautiful and impeccably taken care of by Beth, who always had a friendly wave & smile. I would recommend staying here. We took local buses everywhere and there’s many excellent local and further afield restaurants. The hotel is under ongoing construction changes so I would ask to be located in the newer rooms and high floors.

Old and classy
Classic hotel. Not modern anyhow but with some classy touches that keeps it up to these days. A bit of a maze inside and I wouldnt recommend the standard suites as they face straight to the pool resting area.

Hotel was nice paid for upgrade overlooking building site noise started before 8 am every morning not a nice early morning call. Tv didn't work properly. Poor water pressure from shower.

The Grand is a great hotel, with fantastic views of Magee harbour. The staff are friendly. The pool is on the small size, but was adequate. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who has difficulty walking as the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, which have very few pavements. All in all a great hotel.

Excellent Gozo Hotel
Excellent hotel with a wonderful position overlooking the Gozo Channel. Great view. We were upgraded due to being a Hotels.com Gold Member and had a brilliant room with balcony and views. Previously we have had other less premium but also good rooms. Lovely swimming pool with sun lounger deck. Good breakfast and the lunches and drinks we had were also fine. TV with Netflix and English channels. WiFi worked well with the occasional hiccup. We certainly enjoyed our stay and found the staff we encountered efficient and friendly. A great place to relax and explore Gozo and the beaches from.
