Distinctly average, photographs of the hotel and facilities are not representative of the tired and tatty decor.

Lucky to be a 3 star hotel. Definitely not 4 star.

Posted 08-Jun-2015
Pros: The Animation team. The location. The view from our room. Close to good restaurants and bars.
Cons: Breakfast is a health hazard. The air conditioning needs replacement. The hotel needs a refit. This is at best a 3 star hotel.
Location: Close to Buses and cheap hire car companies. Good access to swimming in the med.
We spent a month at the hotel. During the first week we hired a car and spent most days traveling around Malta and Gozo which were very interesting. We booked a double room with sea view (but we were given twin beds). The view from the room is excellent across St. Paul's Bay but it also faces the western setting sun so the room gets very hot in the afternoon and evening. We noticed that the air conditioning didn't work so we reported it to the front desk. In the end we did this 6 times during our stay but on no occasion did the air conditioning ever work. We couldn't leave our balcony doors open at night as the noise from the bars was very loud and continued well in to the small hours of the morning so sleeping was difficult. We spoke to a number of guests who also noted that they were not able to get their air conditioning working. The whole hotel is in desperate need of a full refit. Even the wardrobe doors fell off. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Bacon was only available with the rubbery fried eggs every second day and there were some health issues with how the food was presented without sneeze guards and we noticed on a number of occasions guests sneezing on the unprotected food. On a brighter side, the hotel is very well located near Bugibba and is very close to lots of very good restaurants and bars. The hotel also has 4 very good pools and lots of space to lay around and enjoy the warm Malta sunshine. The Animation team were wonderful and made great fun.

Nice hotel, beautiful sea view.

We had a very restful holiday. The island was friendly with all the local amenities and facilities necessary to make us feel, comfortable and our needs catered for by familiar cafes and shops. The weather was uncharacteristically windy and wet for part of the time, but for the most part it was very hot and sunny. The hotel was first class, the only aspect we found less than perfect was the food quality which is to be expected in such a large facility. In future we will book bed and breakfast only and buy our other meals in one of the many local cafes.

Nice hotel and queit,beautiful area

Posted 16-May-2015
Pros: Great facility! Even though swim up bar wasn't open until mid May we still enjoyed other pools especially the infinity pool and outdoor beds.
Cons: Air conditioning in the rooms!
Location: I would recommend bus tours around Malta and boat trip to Gozo & Comino. Food in local restaurants was decent and not to expensive.
We stayed at the hotel for a week. First impression was very good , its a nice resort and lovely area. After long journey all we wanted was smooth check in and bit of rest. Receptionist, his name was Paul, was rather miserable and his customer service wasn't to great. Our stay included breakfast.Food was delicious and while eating you can admire some beautiful views from restaurant. Hotel room was clean and specious, the only downside was terrible air condition.Even though it was set on the lowest temperature it wasn't making much difference. We slept with balcony door wide open otherwise nights would be unbearable. Bearing in mind it was only 20-22 C outside at that time , in hot season there is serious risk of being baked alive in bed. Overall, nice place to stay and you wont get bored easily with all different pools, bars, spa and casino.

Great hotel top location

Posted 17-Apr-2015
Pros: Lovely staff, wifi fine, comfy bed
Cons: Air conditioning didn't seem to work but we opened the verandah door.
Location: Close to everything you need.
The Dolmen is in a central location with the sea one side and the restaurants and shops to the other. Great room with good double bed, tv, fridge, verandah with sea views, top breakfast.

Nice and pleasant place to stay, staff not so friendly, got to the hotel late 10pm water for shower was cold, 2 single beds pushed together not ideal for a couple. Staff was willing to change rooms at a cost. Which I was not prepared to do. Breakfast was good beach an supermarket an buster terminal working 2 min walk

Nice hotel

Posted 21-Mar-2015
Pros: All staff were pleasant & really helpful. The cleaning staff were excellent, rooms were serviced daily. Food was plentiful & very good.
Cons: Some areas looking tired & dated. Needing refurbishment.
Location: It is in an excellent location, right by the sea & small beach. The bus station is just a short walk at the back of the hotel, fares extremely cheap.
This is a large well run hotel. The breakfast food was plentiful with a good variety of cooked & cold foods. The hotel is very clean, some areas need refurbishment, but overall a very good hotel. We would certainly stay here again. Hotel has lots of facilities, pools, spa, tennis courts, casino &restaurants.

Nice hotel staff.

Think the section of the hotel I was staying in was under refurbishment, white plaster galore. My room was at the back of the hotel and next to a main road, di that ruled out open the balcony doors. The heating in the room could not be changed, so extremely cold floors and room. To my understanding that's the worst winter the country has ever had. The most enjoyable thing was the Spa staff and treatment I received. I really actually ended up hating the room I was in.
