When we arrived we were greeted with mulled wine and the news that we had been upgraded which was a wonderful start to our holiday. The hotel itself was decorated well, modern and clean but with nice individual touches in the rooms. The breakfast was good with cooked and continental options and the coffee was something to look forward to every morning. We had a lovely view from our balcony which added to the enjoyment of our stay. The hotel is located on the prettiest bay in the area which is charming during the day and surrounded by good restaurants and bars for going out in the evening. Most importantly the staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay here again.

The Xara Palace was a beautiful hotel, the staff were so helpful and the hotel exceeded our expectations. Mdina in our opinion was the best place to go for a quiet peaceful holiday. We visited for the Mdina Classic Car Grand Prix which was fantastic and after the day to return to such a peaceful hotel with luxurious decor was the icing on the cake. Felt quite sad when we left the hotel as we would have loved to stay longer. Mdina is a beautiful Silent City with some lovely restaurants and wine bars and even though it was a little busy during the day with 'tourists' it was still peaceful. A romantic place to go for couples if you like it quiet and peaceful.

Booked into a standard room which was spotless and spacious. For a standard room it exceeded our expectations. Hotel was perfectly located for nice walks around Spinola Bay. A bus stop is at the end of the road which was great to explore the island. Breakfast was plentiful with a great choice. Room was cleaned every day to the highest standard. Lots of lovely restaurants close by. I would recommend this hotel to a friend and we look forward to visiting again next year.
Malta is a lovely island but there was quite a bit of dog dirt and other unpleasant sights across the island which was very disappointing. Also felt that the locals should work on their customer service skills (restaurants, shop assistants, bus drivers, etc). Please and thank you are nice words to hear! Overall the climate and food will make me visit the island again.
Facilities and staff were everything you would expect from a five star hotel with an exceptionally good rate for the low season. There was a wide choice of eating options and although you would expect high prices in such a hotel, they were not significantly different to those in Valletta city centre e.g. Giovannis. We were warned that we may not like Malta but we found the whole week interesting. The city was clean except after a fun run on Sunday and this was quickly cleared up by the evening. The bus services were cheap and excellent.
General Manager invited all new arrivals to meet him and the staff (including backroom staff) in the bar for drinks and nibbles so they must keep in touch with what the visitor thinks.

My wife & I enjoyed a lovely stay at the George Hotel.
The Reception Front Desk & Management staff were all Fantastic and could not have been more helpful - they even provided my wife with lessons on how to use her new iPhone...!
The hotel is in a central location with good transport links and is ideal for touring both Malta & Gozo
This is a simple but comfortable and relatively quiet hotel. We had a balcony overlooking the port with the same great view as the open air rooftop breakfast dining area. The breakfast was simple but good. The owner, Aldo, was extremely nice and helpful. This is not a luxury hotel but an extremely nice simple hotel. There was a good street side restaurant down the block and there and buses into Valetta. It is also a short drive to Valetta if you have a good GPS and the courage to drive on the left side of the road on narrow, winding, hilly streets with lots of roundabouts and traffic.
