Clean, smart, friendly hotel with great facilities

Posted 20-Sep-2014
We found the hotel to be smart, clean, friendly and with good facilities. The food was very good, lots of choice. We had no problem getting sun beds around the pool area, and the clean, sandy beach was only a few minutes away, with the Port a few minutes further along the beach. There are plenty of places to visit nearby and some excellent excursions available. We went on an Island Tour, a visit to Palma, and a trip to the Caves of Drach with No Frills company, and they were all very good value, interesting and informative with very good guides. The hotel staff were outstanding in their professionalism and helpfulness. While we were there, a guest developed a significant health problem and the staff were exceptionally supportive, going out of their way to provide whatever was required for the duration of the guest's stay. The evening entertainment varied in quality, ranging from very mediocre to extremely good - generally speaking the entertainers brought in were very good. Overall, I can't speak highly enough of the Puerto Azul Hotel and from my own experience have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great hotel, great location

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Reception staff were excellent and the choice of food was great.
Cons: Cleanliness could be improved at the hotel and noise level of garden staff and cleaning staff before 8am could be lessened somewhat!
Location: Great location for all restaurants and bars - but set back so nicely quiet.
Great suites and good choice of food available at this hotel. Set back from the main strip but only a few minutes walk to the main restaurants and bars. Great facilities for storage of bikes.

Nice hotel, good facikities

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: Reception, room, pool area, clean, friendly staff.
Cons: Food and kids outdoor area bit tatty, and shops
Location: Located a couple streets back from the beach, so away from the noise, but only a five min walk to beach, town sq
Lovely clean hotel, rooms recent refurbished pleasing. Our room at front of hotel overbreceptiin so some disturbance in night earlyvam when transfers arrive and depart, otherwise quiet street. Lovely pool but still cold in July, tho the beach better option for toddler. Food was satisfactory, good choice, but certainly not the best I have eaten.

A clean hotel and very good value for money. Food could be better but for the money paid for half board £45 per couple per night there are no complaints. I would stay there again and can also recommend to others. April 2013

not quite what we were expecting

Posted 10-Jul-2012
Pros: location and pool
Cons: no cooking facilities. additional cost for fridge and kettle
Location: good. near centre and beach
surprised at additional cost for fridge, kettle given that it was an aparthotel. No facility to cook, no crockery/cutlery. More hotel than apartment

Pleasing

Posted 03-Jul-2012
Pros: Lovely pool area
Cons: Evening Entertainment/Dated room
Location: Gorgeous, easy to get to the sea front/port and bus station.
I think it would be unfair to call this hotel anything other than pleasing. The reception is nice, always tidy and clean, the staff all very helpful - a nice warm and friendly atmosphere. The only few problems we had was how dated the rooms and the exterior of the buildings looked, could do with a lick of paint and a bit of modernising. A fridge is in the room but you have to pay €2'50 a day to get it activated - a little bit of an extra expense and annoyance but nothing too holiday ruining. As a young couple the hotel entertainment wasn't really our cup of tea, its very much geared towards families and/or kids yet they seem to have Kenyan dancers and a Rod Stewart tribute act, and an old school music quiz - plenty to do in the port though so its not all doom and gloom! Location is super, about two minutes walk to the sea front down a safe street - I went with my girlfriend and we both commented on how neither of us once felt uncomfortable or unsafe. I would like to thank Puerto Azul staff for being so helpful - I couldn't fault their service.

Decent Hotel in good location

Posted 30-Apr-2012
Decent hotel for the price in very good location for restaurants and bars in puerto pollensa, and this is the reason we chose this hotel as we have visited puerto pollensa several times in the past. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable with kitchenette but the hotel do not provide anything in the kitchen just a fridge (which you pay to rent), a sink & 2 ring hob & empty cupboards! so take a kettle, cups & teaspoons if you like your morning brew!! The hotel looked as if it was well geared up for families as there was a playground and games area for kids but as we went out of the school holidays only a few small children there. The bar prices in this hotel are very good compared to some of the bars in town - 2.20 euros for a pint of san miguel but in town it can cost 4.50 euros, it's a short, flat walk into puerto pollensa with its many restaurants and bars, some of our favourite restaurants are Maxim's in the square and IRU on the front & of course The Codfather, better fish & chips than at our local chippy!!! Overall this is a decent hotel in a good location.
