“Nice food and quiet location”
The hotel is next to the sea in an upmarket area with expensive houses on most of the quiet local roads and a nearby golf course golf course. There is a small minimarket across the road and a beach 5-10 minutes walk away. The hotel has a small artifical beach next to the local mini-harbour. A hire car would be advised if you wish to travel further. Rooms are slightly dated but spotless and with good-sized balconies. The best rooms for sun directly face the sea, though those are the minority. Those on the left (when facing the sea) will get direct sun in the morning only and on the right after about 2pm. The food is fantastic with option of freshly grilled fish and meat whilst you wait. Half-board is recommended. Definitley a positive part of our visit. Wine and water with the meal were slightly pricy. Mixture of nationalitlies mostly French, German, Dutch, some British. The pool area was quiet with sun loungers always free (reserving with towels was appropriately banned). We went out of main season - mostly adult guests. Quite a few golfers. Not an ideal hotel for those bringing children. Limited civilised evening entertainment (piano, jazz). Overall highly recommended for adults looking for relaxation and good food.
“If you want a relaxing holiday, this is a great place to go.”
The hotel was as described by other reviewers, in that the first impression is of an older building style but inside it was modern. The outside and grounds were very well kept and the pools immaculately cleaned and maintained. Despite the hotel being full there was no scrambling for sun loungers or prime seating. The food was great from each venue, with a wide and varied wine-list. The hotel and room cleanliness was excellent and the staff were exceptionally friendly, good-humoured and helpful. If you want a relaxing holiday, this is a great place to go.
“Impressive”
Lovely hotel, beautifully situated. Service was very good. Overall would rate highly for value for money. No proper beach near hotel but one could be reached fairly quickly - which we were happy with, but you just need to be aware Only criticisms were: - Buffet food was very good but a bit repetitive, almost too much choice at times - The hotel was very busy in August and finding chairs around the pool could be taxing although we would always find some eventually
“Chicago's best hotel”
Excellent breakfasts. Helpful staff. Quiet hotel
“Super hotel, will go back for sure!”
Staff very helpful and friendly, room on 7th floor was lovely with a view of the sea and the mountain - very quiet. The food was fantastic - plenty of choice and cooked to order buffet style. The pools are fine but people tend to "bag" the sunloungers very early on - we preferred the small beach where sun loungers were always available. Take your snorkelling gear! There isn't much in the way of activities for young teenagers but a short taxi ride away you can find Jet Ski's to hire and Bananas to be dragged around the bay on! Evening entertainment pitched at the older guests "Sinatra Night" etc. - but perfect for a quiet getaway for a few days/week. The weather was very hot and sunny but men not allowed to wear shorts at dinner (however smart) although women and teenagers and children permitted to do so - seems a little unfair if you ask me. Will visit again.
“Can I go back now?”
Out of town location - good for me because I like the quiet life. Great food - lots of choice with too much to eat - nice problem though. Staff attentive. Room good size and clean. Maid excellent. Cannot complain about this place - all good and will be back. oh, just one comment regarding wireless internet coverage: it's free (thanks) but cover needs to be extended further than Reception and lower lounge area. Please extend to pool area and rooms.
“Sixth Visit - this must tell you something!”
This hotel is a gem; the location is perfect, being totally on it's own and surrounded by hills and pine trees at the back, and overlooking a beautiful bay. The rooms are great (but be sure to get a refurbished room if possible overlooking the pool). The service by the restaurant staff is terrific, and the food was better than I remember it the last time we went - two years ago. We have a 15 year old son, who also enjoys it; there have always been people of his own age or similar that he makes friends with. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, but you need a car, and don't expect there to be lots to do in the evening - they have cabaret evenings, but very mediocre
“Cant wait to go back”
I have never been so impressed with both the location and hotel. The food was beautiful and the staff was very helpful.
“An Excellent Hotel”
This is an excellent hotel. It's in a quiet and up-market area, well away from the hustle and bustle of Cala Millor. You could spend your whole holiday without moving from the hotel, the facilities are so good, but if you want to get out and about, as we did, you really need to rent a car. And as the hotel is 1 hour drive from Palma airport, it's a sensible option in any case. Built in 1965, the hotel's exterior is not inspiring, but they carried out a very extensive and successful renovation a couple of years ago and the hotel rooms, public areas and facilities are first class. The pool area and gardens are delightful with plenty of sun loungers. (They collect up your towel if you try to reserve a lounger before breakfast!) The food is extensive and well cooked and presented. It's a buffet service so you can get your meal cooked to order. Or there are plenty of cold dishes as well. Breakfast is excellent too; a full English or a wide choice of meats, cheeses, cereals and so on. There's even Cava at breakfast so you can start the day with a Buck's Fizz. There are tennis courts on site with a professional coach, an excellent spa with a wide range of treatments, a hairdresser and a well stocked gift shop. Finally, the service we received was faultless. Every member of staff we dealt with, from reception, housekeeping, restaurant and bar, was friendly and professional and extremely hard-working. Minus points: A daily charge for the room safe - and that's about it.
“Excellent hotel with friendly staff”
This hotel was a great discovery. The staff were wonderful and the rooms clean and comfortable. The restaurant was truly outstanding and offered a great choice of food in every possible category for both the breakfast buffet (cooked, continental, fruit and cereals) and the evening meals (starters, salads, fish, meat, cheese, fruit and desserts). The lively team of chefs consistently made every effort to please, and every conceivable dietry preference was extensively catered for. The hotel pool was heavenly and ideal for soaking up the Mediterranean sun. One word of advice would be to hire a car to be able to make the most of the other local treasures such as the beach at Cala Mesquida, the caves on the coast near Arta, and to most conveniently visit Palma and the other larger towns on the Island. We definitely plan to go back again in the near future.
