Nice location

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Location , roof terrace and lovely buffet breakfast
Cons: Staff on hand more.
Location: Beach on the doorstep and bus to Marina or Alcudia outside the hotel.
Great location 3 mins to the beach, which given the pool is not very big, was rather lucky. Staff friendly, but reception not manned after 4.30 pm which is not great as a couple of emergencies arose and receptionist had to be contacted at home . Few niggles - door key stopped working at night- no reception. Just lucky it was before the restaurant closed at 11 or we would have had to sit in the reception all night !

Pros: Staff are excellent quiet even with families, terrace has excellent views with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Great place to see the sun set with wine
Quiet end of resort which suited us fine.5 min bus trip to centre with great restaurants overlooking the harbour. The steakhouse ( in the centre) was excellent but need to book in advance. Also a trip to Alucida is worth a visit as beach is great and sea is very clear and warm.( aprox 15 min bus trip) We also took a boat trip to Formenta which is 30 mins each way, views are brill and beach was also very good.

Good for independent families

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: The hotel has a smallish pool that we were often able to have to ourselves.
Cons: The room was very clean, but there were some maintenance issues with the sink and air conditioning leaking.
Location: The hotel is very conveniently located for access to the beach and was quiet. It is about a 20 minute walk from the town / Pine walk.
We spent a week in the hotel with our two teenage children. We stayed in a three bedroom apartment, which was at the back of the hotel, and very spacious.

An excellent choice

Checked in late on Saturday to find no one on reception but if that happens , don't worry. We were shown o our room with the minimum of fuss by Eduardo from the restuarant and told the "formalities" would be completed the next day, The room had everything, including a bottle of complimentary wine to welcome us. The location is first class, just a stroll across the road to the wonderful beach, and at the quiet end of the street. The resort offers a massive choice of places to eat, with the hotels restaurant being one of the best. We will definately be returning to Galeon Suites in the future

Pros: everything
Location: the bus service is good, all major sites are serviced ,reception will advise market and fiesta days
Great hotel ,suites are spacious in fact more than you need, staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfasts are varied and plentiful and the restaurant serves interesting variations of medi food the new chef is argentinan and includes some of their specialities on the menu. The hotel position is ideal if you want a calm atmosphere and only a short walk along the beach to the port which is livelier. The beach opposite the hotel is clean and has plenty of sunbeds and areas to lay on the sand ,the sea is quite shallow and safe if you want more privacy the hotel spa and sun deck is fab. we didnt hire a car as you can get everywhere by the bus service which is good and cheap and the drivers speak english , even getting from the airport to the hotel is simple a no 1 bus from the airport to Palma go down into bus and train station and take the bus to pprt pollenca which stops out side the galeon suites total cost per person 9.70 erros taxis start at 73 euros In all a great place to stay we have been before and will go again

Pros: Cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, perfect for all age groups, especially families and couples looking for a relaxing environment.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Perfect location, easy walk to the port, beach across the road. Bus stop at front door if required.
Loved absolutely everything about the hotel. Our room was spacious, with great facilities, as well as possibly the most comfortable beds we've experienced in Mallorca. We had a fabulous balcony with both both mountain and sea views, just perfect to enjoy the evening sunset. We chose to upgrade to half board and were delighted with the choice of food for both breakfast and dinner. I must make mention of the staff in the hotel, without exception they were so friendly, professional, and did everything they could to make our stay perfect.

Pros: Spacious, clean, elegant, very good facilities
Cons: n/a
Location: Galeon - beach, bike hire, walking on the promenade and local hills; Son Sant Jordi - quiet relaxing town of Pollensa, walking in the hills, cycling.
I am only able to rate this hotel on the basis of a short visit. The holiday was booked via Expedia and we discovered a week before leaving that this hotel was closed for repairs and prep for the new season and that we had been transferred to the sister hotel of this family run company c. 5km away inland in the old and uncommercialised town of Pollensa. The alternative hotel turned out to be smaller, intimate and extremely comfortable, and the change of venue a better choice at this time of year. In other words, we were not unhappy about the move at all. However we did check out the Galeon for future reference and the staff showed us round. It is spacious and very pleasantly finished with marble flooring everywhere and comfortable, modern fittings. The sundeck on the first floor has a wonderful view of the sea and bay of Alcudia. The bar and restaurant looked very good. The chef who had cooked wonderful food for us for most of our week had moved over to the Galeon for the new season, so we assume that visitors would be very pleased with the quality of the food and service. We would be happy to recommend both hotels most warmly. The sister hotel in Pollensa - Hotel Son Sant Jordi - is ideal for for a quiet relaxing stay and the Galeon would be an excellent choice for a beach based holiday. The family company make every effort to make their guests confortable. We will be going back.
