“Very surprised with at value for money”

After reading the reviews prior to my stay I must say I was slightly worried. I have to say what a lovely hotel, great views welcoming staff and a lovely place even though it was hilly what fantastic value for money I have already recommended to friends.

“Lots of steep steps”

The Blue Bay hotel in Cala Major - we stayed here for 1 wk in May 2011. The hotel was up a very steep hill. There were 2 options, take the steep road to the main road for shops etc or take the steps down by the side of the hotel. If you take the road option, there is very little pavement and a lot of traffic so dangerous in places. There were about 140 steps down to the first level and then a further 40 or so down to the main road. It wasn't so much the going down but of course, one had to go up again. Not at all suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. If you go into Palma, make sure you get a no 20 bus back as that stops very near the hotel. The hotel was tired, in need of a refurb and noise travelled very easily from next door rooms. Also, although we had a no smoking room,both of our near neighbours smoked on the balcony which then drifted into our room. Not very pleasant. Hotel staff were good and helpful.

“Great views”

Great views if you get a room at the front, the beach. quite a steep hill up to the hotel, so be aware of that before choosing this hotel. But the views are great from the hotel. Its a pretty cheap hotel, but its your average 3 star and nice and clean with a nice bar and english speaking staff. 25 mins bus from Palma centre, so nice and quiet. the bus is every 7 mins i think and its only 1.20 euro, so about £1.10 at current rates. a review below tells you bus numbers and helped me a lot!! very easy to get around the city.

“Good value for money”

We went on a week-long stay which included complimentary evening meal, making it very good value - limited choice of food (e.g. 3 main courses), but fine for us. Noisy one night from some rooms - we suspect it was late arrivals who decided to start holidaying irrespective of time of arrival. But most nights the hotel was quiet enough by midnight.. Bar, and wine with meal, not over-priced. Steep hill from main road to hotel - 200 steps - may be too much for some people, Cheap transport - 2 euros on No 1 bus from airport to main bus station (Place d'Espanya), then 1.25 euros on No 3 to second bus stop in Cala Major. Hotel is signposted on main road, but easy to miss. Nicely landscaped pool/ terrace area. 90 minutes' walk to heart of Palma, if feeling energetic enough; plenty of cafes on way!. We'd stay again.

“Good deal for the money”

For the price, the hotel was great. The front desk was helpful and spoke English, explaining what buses to take into town, and arranging for a cab to the airport. The hotel bar and evening entertainment were a nice addition, as well. The pool and view of the ocean were relaxing. Only downside was the small room and thin walls, but we were rarely in the room, so it wasn't a huge problem.

“Great!”

The Blue Bay hotel is an absolute find! Lovely art-deco-ish building, with prime views over Palma Bay. It isn't the height of luxury, but it is more than comfortable with a high standard of cleanliness. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, the restaurants generally being of better than average quality. Palma itself is a 1 euro 25, 15-min bus ride away. For the price and location, you won't do much better!

“Tres bon hotel...”

Tout est dis dans le titre, tres bon hotel mon amie et moi y avons passé 5 nuits fin mais et nous avons etes satisfaits. Chambre prope et spacieuse, vue imprenable sur la mer, le bar est smpa et le personnel disponible. Le petit dejeuner est copieux et biensur tres sucrė comme tout çe qu'on trouve la bas ! Il y a du salė egallement. Bref je recommande cet hotel, surtout pour le prix, niveau situation, l est a dix mn de voie rapide de l'aeroport et a dix mn du cenre historique de palma, un supermarché juste en bas de l'hotel et de quoi de restaurer et faire la fete a quelques mn a pied
