My son found and booked the resort, I'm glad he did as it was lovely, we've never been so relaxed and will defiantly go back again. The resort is small and intimate and everyone knows your name, staff are helpful and always polite.
I would recommend Gangehi to couples and family's alike!
We stayed for 7 nights and found the hotel & staff were brilliant.. Very comfortable & close to beach & pools....definately stay there again. The food at all the restaurants was fantastic as was the service.
I stayed 4 nights in their water villa. The room is big and clean and offers an amazing view of the sea. The sky at night is filled with stars, just like diamonds glittering. The service crew is friendly and helpful. We were lucky to see dolphins during the sunset cruise too! Perfect for honeymooners!

Wonderful experience from the moment we got to the pickup counter at the airport. Room was not going to be ready for another 4 hours.so my family and I decided to go see the mainland. Bandos provided a tour guide at no cost to me. Clean room, wonderful and pleasant staff. Hasan in the gallery restaurant went above and beyond. Chen at dive bandos was excellent for my first scuba diving experience. The house reef is great. First rate facility. Well maintained. Would go back again.

Picturesque and stunning setting, surrounded by turqoise waters and serviced by friendly and professional personnel. Everything about our stay was absolutely excellent. We will never forget our week in paradise at Velassaru. Services and restaurants rather expensive but you're paying for quality. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax in a beautiful place

The service staff are very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, and the amenities and facilities are excellent. The waters are also very clear and there are many fishes even near the shore. We did not try many restaurants but the food we had was generally okay but not excellent.

Chaaya Reef is a small Atoll in the Ari Reef chain.
Service: 5*. Seriously: from the Table Service, to the room cleaning, Turn Down service at night, Pool Service, Scuba experience...Wow!!! The people have a Strong Work Ethic. when something isnt right, and you tell them- you almost feel bad since they care so much.
Rooms: Your in the middle of the Indian Ocean on a Atoll. Its pretty much in the middle of no-where. They build nice Strong Concrete small buildings with either 1 room or 4 rooms. Easily survived the strong winds we experienced. The resort provides power adapters. Make sure you have 220Volt items! (European voltage). They were very clean, and very quiet. We slept GREAT! Beds are a bit on the firm side. Guys will LOVE it...Girls will moan unless they are sporty.
Food: concerned when we read the food reviews on a few sites. But the Hotel did Really well. Very European style with a large number of Indian offerings. Not an indian restaurant frequenter- but i found the selection quite nice. If i felt like European food- No Prob, and if i wanted some local/indian type food. No Prob. I was worried about my wife and stomach bugs- but No Prob!
Scuba: The house reef here is the best in the Maldives. If you scuba, its AWESOME! They take care of the reef and it sure pays off
Transport: We took the boat vice the plane and was fun. We liked it.
Bottom-line for us: We'd go back. Hotel staff is Great, rooms comfy and quiet, and scuba- WOW!!
My first time visiting a "tropical island" resort. I found the experience amazing, Meeru island resort had great waters, views, everything as expected from the pictures.
Resort staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Smiles and greetings from everyone we walked past.
I stayed with my wife in room 302 which was the first overwater villa on the left of the ramp, east side of the island. Water was amazing, when we first arrived I feared being too close to the beach would harm the experience but not so.
We booked in the off season (September 21-28) and weather was perfect. Rained only 1 day.
We took three excursions which you pay for. The sunset cruise, snorkeling (free - BYO equipment (equipment is hirable)), and island hopping cruise (9am-5pm)
all good fun
Food was awesome, big variety and nice quality, in 7 days only a few dishes out of hundreds were repeated.
email me or PM for queries
All up a lovely experience, wouldn't want to stay more than 7 days though unless you really love snorkeling and/or scuba diving.

This was an amazing holiday. Although not officially a luxury resort, Thundi Guest House's luxury lies in its location, beautiful nature everywhere, and it's people. The staff were fantastic, they could not do enough for us. We asked for hammocks and so they built two for us and hung them from trees situated near the beach that was just outside the guest house. We asked for a table to be set up on the beach so www could have our meals there, so they did precisely that. Any arrangements we needed making they did. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. They were truly fantastic. Thunder's luxury lies the beauty of its people and the island itself. This was a great holiday and we are keen to go back.
